247 has an article out about UT receivers.

Azzanni speaking:

“And we were doing well running the ball (against Oklahoma). I mean, people forget it was 17-3 with eight minutes to go. People are like, ‘Why didn’t you throw the ball more?’ Well, why? I mean, we were doing fine. And then we needed to (throw) and we weren’t able to. And there’s no excuses for that. We’ve definitely got to get better.

I sure didn't forget. Did y'all forget? Maybe the elderly women's Olympic XC coach forgot, but I sure didn't forget.

What a dumb thing to say. I honestly think the coaches think we're stupid.

I want to know why, at that point, we were still running the hurry up, when we should have been milking the clock and forcing OU to use their timeouts??? :banghead2:

You know, basic Coaching 101 stuff

Honestly, how do you respond: Throw players under the bus, or I'm just too stupid of a coach to make adjustments in the receiving game, or I don't call the plays...someone else does? :)

GO VOLS!

About as dumb a Butch telling us that OU is an all-time top 5 program and UT took them to double OT. Well, UT is an all-time top 10 program and no one is popping corks when they beat us. I'd love for UT to play Michigan in a bowl game. I guess Butch would tell us we're going up against the greatest team in college history.

My biggest issue.......not necessarily the early decision for the FG, but this was the biggest head scratcher for me and made me wonder what the hell the coaching staff was thinking. When you are up 17-3 that late in the game, you try and shorten the game, not lengthen it.....day one stuff

Tennessee only had the ball once in the 4th quarter and it was with more than 7:00 left. Milking the clock and forcing OU to use timeouts wouldn't really come into play. Ran the ball twice and threw once.

Maybe Michigan would pay us to go play in their stadium. That would be an honor for a small program like ours. And if we can stay within 3 or 4 TDs, it would be as good as a win.

It's not the play calls, it's snapping the ball with 20+ seconds on the play clock

I'd give it to him, as long as he describes Missouri and South Carolina as all time bottom feeders when we play them.

anyone ever thought that we made adjustments that just weren't effective? Outcoached outschemed, out-manned. Hell maybe just unlucky. we are still ahead of schedule. worst damn thing that happened to coach Butch Jones was he beat South Carolina is first year. made everybody's expectations accelerate.. still does not have an entire roster full of his recruit good gracious let's give him a moment to breathe. Dooley wasn't that long ago... and remember he was the guy who developed our senior class right now as freshman.

To be fair to the coaches, most people on this site are stupid.

With love,

Most on this site are football ignorant, not so much stupid. Football is a very humbling game, you can do everything to the best of you ability as coaches and players and still lose the game. It happens. It's time to move on and get behind our team, coaches and players alike.

I seriously can't hardly get on here anymore. It's just negative post after negative post.
Some of y'all need to quit taking this to heart so much.
I absolutely love the Vols and bleed orange and will support them til the day I die!
I have on occasion been grumpy after a loss, but if my attitude was affected this much by a game played by kids, then I hope I would have sense enough to take a step back and figure out what is really wrong in my life!
