Do we still use PMS 151 as our official shade of Orange

Stick with PMS 151. Had custom inserts painted to put in during the sportsball season on my truck and they turned out pretty well I feel. Used PMS 151 as the reference.

I used an orange from Lowe’s and it works great. I can give anyone the name if they’d like it.

There is only one orange for us, my sons, and it is not the bastardized red-orange of Florida, Auburn, Virginia, or Clemson, nor is it the burnt earth dirt-orange of Texas. Verily, it is the golden orange of Tennessee, glorified in every sunrise and sunset, etched forever in our minds' eyes, sooth for our souls, and fortification for our humble resolve to be the best representatives of our University and the great state of Tennessee. Never let it be said that our words or actions stained that hallowed color.

We are orange.
We stand between corruption and the sublime.
We are orange.
We stand between the Crimson and the goal.
We are orange.
We are orange.

Liked the lighter shade of orange we used during the Dickey and Fulmer years. Majors used a darker color as did Dooley and Butch.

I remember a ref calling a penalty on "the yellow team" in Neyland once. The noise was so loud I couldn't even hear his apology. I liked the orange better back then too... but I'm pretty old now.

This is Dupont's pantone 151.

Crap...forgot photobucket won't share images anymore.

I had a hard time finding the right shade for my mancave. I finally took a shirt that was as close to the correct orange as I could find and had it scanned at a paint store.

Word of caution, I initially used the "College Colors" Tennessee Orange that Home Depot sells and was not happy with it. Once it dried it looked Florida orange. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Lighting can completely change colors. Many light bulbs include the CRI (color rendering index) and color temperature (like 2700K). If you want your Pantone 151 to be Tennessee orange, then you gotta have the right lighting. Uniforms on the field are going to be affected by lighting, too - sun, shadow, lights, and sunglasses.

Just remember you can also refer to the dark tone of a daisy, because that is where UT orange came from.
