Do we really have anything new to show Florida next weekend?

I have heard that they were playing very "vanilla" the last 2 games.

I just have doubts that the "clawfense" has anything special left in it's arsenal and if it does can they execute it?

If there was ever a game to let it all hang out, it would be next weekend. I have my doubts we can win but anything can happen.

I think our "vanilla" offense has e. coli or something, because it made me sick at my stomach.

On one hand I think we can run the ball because of all the skill we have there. Then I remember how well we've run the ball against them the last two years, and thus return to reality.

I've got to believe we have something new because we really havent seen much of anything.

I hope you're right. We have three great backs, I say run at them untill somebody gives up! (our backs or their defensive line) Sneak some short passes to A.F. on ocasion just to keep them on their toes. :clapping: Defense can win a game...look at Aub. & Miss St.

This is it
Clawson's going to unleash the wishbone, with G. Jones as the QB

We've all been through this before it's no great mystery although we seem to want to make it more complicated than it is. The Gators are a speed/finesse team for the most part, and you can't run laterally on them. What you can do and we've had success in the past with is power run straight at them, slammin between the tackles smackin em in the mouth. Power running football...that and the discipline to stay with it, holding on to the ball, clock control, field position control. On defense it's discipline as well with fundamentally sound tackling, and disciplined area control(I think you can best defend the spread offense in a similar way you'd defend against the option). I swear the one thing the Vols coaching staff does that just drives me crazy is, if we're gettin hurt they won't do 1 thing visibly to adjust. But if somethings working they can't stand prosperity they just gotta change it trying to be clever. A back is averageing better than 5 a carry and they start throwing..:fool:

We have to be able to disrupt timing to defend the spread
Either get pressure on Tebow, or bump the recievers off the line

Given our D line play, and the lack of pressure we put on Craft in the second half of the UCLA debacle, our D-backs are going to have to slow the recievers down

Don't want to sound negative but...I don't think our defense can hang. Even if the D backs can cover, Tebow will just take off especially in the red zone. He probably has more yards than any of the backs we've faced so far anyway. I hope Chavis has a plan for #15. The guy made a fool out of the stains...I mean Canes, and wanted more.

Just a thought here. If i were getting less than desirable pressure from my front four. I have a guy that might be able to help, then put his hand on the ground and see what he's got. He's not big enough to play tackle. But he has speed and size and he might make a damn good speed rush end. As much as were using warren at te i'd do the same thing with him. I'am starting to believe there is just one big collective brain fart going on up there.

Warren did take a few snaps at end saturday in the second half. He looked like he could contribute there.

In my 22 years of life and about 10 years of comprehension of UT football i would have to say that this is the first time that i have not believed that we stand a chance against florida

Hope springs eternal when you are young. When you get older you begin expecting the downs to help soften their blow. But in reality the chances of winning haven't changed. We always have a chance, even if it isn't a very good one this year...

I think we will see some new surprise plays out of the G-Gun formation. I don't know if anyone noticed, but we did not run the G-Gun at all against UAB. I assume that was planned for a reason. Wouldn't surprise me to see Berry in the G-Gun package with Gerald on a play or two. Fine with me as long as he don't get hurt.

In my 33 and 20+ years, respectively, as well as going back to the 1990 game that really started this rivalry, I feel almost the same way.

That being said, we do have a chance... just not a great chance.

7 ints in two games is not shabby and we could have had more. How many (if any at all) do you see us getting from Tebow this weekend? We all know that most of the time this game comes down to running, stopping the run and turnovers. I see two INTs for out D and I hope we can make some points out of them.

Yes, we have a QB with a phobia of earthworms and moths, and he tries to kill them with the football whenever he sees one on the field.

you are saying that you don't remember the 94 and 96 games? you are lucky -- those were sad days at neyland.

i hate letting being realistic take precedence over emotion, but i feel that this saturday could be even worse.

all the Gators have to do is shut down the run, and make JC beat them with his arm. i don't think he can do it.

As out of sync as our offense is i just can't believe we will all of a sudden come alive with all these new plays for UF when we have trouble completing the vanilla ones!

I think our defense has to show up big time.

Even if we punt a lot, Florida may punt a lot as well. I think we'll load the box, pressure Tebow, and make him nervous.

If he scrambles and beats us, they're just better than we are.

We've got to give ourselves a chance to win the game. If we sit back and let them pick us apart for 3 hours, they will definitely win.

The offense cannot make mistakes, but more importantly we need to pressure Tebow on every opportunity.
