Do we play anyone else that can run the ball like GT?

LOL. Overdramatic much?

They see running backs but ignore overall offensive schemes...LOL.

GT ran the ball 86 times....

LSU, Bama, UGA run the ball like 25-30 times. Big difference there....especially in regards to how tired your defense gets.

The other 25-30 plays will be passes. Those aren't as "sure" as a run. 25-50% usually are incomplete. Maybe 1-2 are turnovers. So in reality, normal offenses have like 45ish offensive plays that actually go for yardage. Vs 86 of them that go for 2.5 to 4 yards....

Plus your defense won't be chasing its own tail on every play. They can just focus on 1 or 2 main play makers. If UGA runs the Ball 40 times, you'll just stack the box and take the middle away. They don't have 7 different backs like GT does. Plus you can actually run blitzes. You can really blitz the triple option without blowing an assignment in the backfield.

Totally different way of defending a traditional offense.

This is the first time we've faced the triple option since 06 vs Air Force. Ironically we won that game by stopping a 2pt conversion on the last play.

Next time we face the triple option I'm going to plow my garden. It'll probably look like a septic drain field after the game.

Alabama is the best rushing team left on our schedule. And while not the option, Hurts can get out and run.

LSU also should have a good ground game.

Obviously with Chubb back, UGA will have a tough 1-2 punch in their backfield

My thoughts for sure. Also a big reason why they had so much possession

Historically, how good a team is defending "normal rushing attacks" has no real bearing (good or bad) on defending Tech. A better indicator honestly might be how well a defense is at stopping screens.

I'm not saying your run D is going to be good or bad this year. Just saying you probably didn't learn much about it on Monday.
