We lose Cory Thomas and maybe Kevin Mouhon. I think the rest of the class sticks though IMO.

Good both re afraid of the quanity of players we are bringing in at there position. Make room for Evans, Scott and (I hope) Jackson! Like I said before this staff is not waiting for the dissapointment come signing day, they are preparing for the suprise!

EricVol2096 started a good thread on this topic (http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...-two-week-signing-day-recruiting-summary.html). According to him, DeWayne Hendrix and Derek Barnett are wavering ever so slightly, whereas Mouhon and Thomas are far more problematic. Conversely, Derell Scott, Craig Evans and Adoree Jackson are the last three major targets on Butch's radar screen as we sprint toward the finish line.

I understand trying to get playing time but it makes me wonder how much heart they have if they don't feel like they can earn time on the field.

somebody give me a year when some kid did not defect and another surprise signed. That is HS recruiting 101.

I would say your right. I hope we can hold on to them. But if we can't maybe it will open a few spots for a big surprise on NSD

I wouldn't worry about Barnett, and Hendrix more likely than not ends up a Vol. Thomas and Mouhon on the other hand....

I think we lose Mouhon to Cincinnati and Thomas to Mississippi State, Hendrix and Barnett will stick with us and we pick up Evans and Scott.

Garnett is visiting this weekend with Evans. Those two would ease the pain of losing Thomas and Mouhon if CBJ can land them. If he can keep either Thomas or Mouhon, that would be icing on the cake.

Why are we saying we are losing Moulhon and Thomas? Did I miss something? As far as I'm concerned they are Vols until NSD and state otherwise.

I heard Thomas was wavering but haven't heard about Mouhlan,Barnett or Hendrix? What's the scoop

I don't believe that anyone is extremely worried about Barnett or Hendrix. However, it is worth noting that Hendrix lives in O'Fallon, IL, which is a stone's throw from St. Louis, so the University of Missouri is much closer to home (140 to 160 miles, depending on the route) for him than UT, which is about 475 miles and 7.5 hours away. Proximity does matter.

For real though, who would actually want to go to college in Columbia, MO?

I went to grad school there after finishing at TN. Columbia is a nice college town, decent music scene, good food, a couple good microbreweries, and fairly cheap. It's not Knoxville, but it's a pretty happening little town that's 1.5 hours from KC or STL.

The school is pretty decent too.

No mountains but it's definitely very livable.
