Do we jump Kentucky in the polls?

Yes, the ACC is a better basketball conference than the SEC, but UT has 3 losses and UNC has 5. Tenn also beat Louisville and Kentucky, but UNC lost to them. They also lost convincingly to Michigan, but hey. They are UNC, so of course they’ll move ahead of Tenn if Tenn loses, not matter what the records.
The people promoting North Carolina in the media are big ACC sycophants anyway

There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't jump Kentucky in the polls. None.

The only real question is who else do we jump?
Hey @Freak, are you going to post the game? I was driving to a conference yesterday and had to listen on the radio. CBS sports app doesn’t let you watch past games like the ESPN one does.

I agree with you - I would be wrong if I thought that - but I don't - do you agree that the ACC is a better conference and more of a grind than the SEC in basketball?

It can be most years but even SEC football is up & down the East has been bad sans UGA lately. You may have fallen into the media gauntlet, using history & brand names for advertising/ratings which drive rankings to a certain extent.

UNC lost to unranked 16-13 Texas. They have 5 losses. We have 0 bad losses, and only 3 losses overall. I realize this is nitpicking, but deciding the top 5 you have to nitpick. Other than beating a Zionless Duke. What have they done to overcome having 2 more losses than us?
i understand where you are coming from - i was replying to the poster who said that UVA and UNC ahead of us is a joke - UVA - really a joke? I am nitpicking somewhat too - but look at Carolina's last few games - they get the blue blood benefit of the doubt but they are peaking at the same time - blowing out Duke at Cameron even without Zion was impressive - they blew out Florida State recently too - we just need to take care of the next two games - once everybody is on a neutral floor - I don't care about the rankings - the seeding is more important

Perhaps - I do think the SEC has closed the gap on ACC in basketball - particularly this year

Agree - unfortunately it is what it is - getting caught up in the rankings is silly - but we need to take care of our business - the seedings are what is more important

I agree. If we win out, I see no way we are not a 1 seed, but it’ll be tough.

The announcers had already explained it all away, by game's end, yesterday. UT doesn't have the impressive resume of a Duke, UNC, UK, or UVA, etc. They believed UT would remain a #2 seed, even if they win out. But, if they win the SEC Tournament, they may creep in the backdoor, as a #1 seed. That would put them at 31-3. They seemed intent on having UVA, Duke and UNC all as #1 seeds.

The usual ACC bias by the sports media

Duke has four losses. Two, at home. Although, all the losses were versus top 20 teams. UT has three losses. All on the road, vs top 15 teams. UNC has five losses. Two at home. UVA has two losses. Both to Duke. One at home, one on the road. UK has five losses. Two at home, and very ugly losses to Bama (In Lex) and Seton Hall, at a neutral site. So, logically, because UK has five losses, and we split with them, we should be #4. But, we will not jump three spots. I'd say #5. UK drops to sixth or seventh.

Nah, It’s Kentucky. They will probably move up in the polls and we will slide down some more. The pollsters will claim we should have won “more definitively “.
Not realistic. We will probably trade places with Ky. or they will be No. 5.
