Well it sure seems that way. Today I was in a co-op and standing next to me were 4 guys talking about TN. One guy was the leader of the conversation and he said we made a huge mistake in hiring these guys. Said the play calling was awful and it was kiffins fault he threw 3 int's. He aslo didnt understand why we didnt pass the ball on our last play. No wonder so many non UT fans in the state of tennessee hate us. We complain about everything. I think its b/c so many of our fans are just uneducated and really dont understand the game or recruiting.

Well what can you say there is one in every crowd. I am sure every team has their morons.

I think they are just frustrated and that if you listended to ten random conversations you'd hear at least twenty different opinions.

Those interceptions were definitely Crompton's fault.
Nothing against him personally, but it was his fault.
Kiffin didn't tell him to throw to the defenders.. unless this is all part of his huge plan to sneak up on Florida.

So I'm sure you set 'em straight since you really understand the game and recruiting, right?

Blamed him for the 3 interceptions and capped off by saying he should have thrown on 4th down. Brilliant.

I am sure that if you asked them they would have told you that Good Ol' Phil was "Done Dirty".

Throwing the interceptions was Crompton's fault. Having him in the game to throw the second and third was Kiffin's fault. Kiffin admitted he learned a lot.

Also, and I have harped on this before many times here, for the most part people in East Tennessee want nothing to do with anything outside of it on many different levels.

They are afraid of things they don't know about. Discounting something is much easier than learning about it.

Addition: This doesn't represent the whole fan base. Just the dumbass ones.

Not much different here in West Tennessee.

Every school has their fair share of idiots; you just notice them more during the tough times.

When I hear this, I think to that article where those two UT students said, "We're gonna get killed", and "Why did Kiffin have to say that stuff?" I mean, I don't think we'll win, but do those idiots not understand how far we had fallen? Kiffin needed to give us energy. Some fans are never happy. Ever.

Glad the addition came in because this was what I had for you:

Stereotype much? I understand you are in the prestigious Triangle and all, but good grief, that whole "for the most part" bit is as ignorant as the people you painstakingly paint as closed-minded hicks.

Glad I held my fire!!!:)

I actually agree with Lawgator. There are always going to be idiots in a fan base...every fan base.

Just chalk it up to individual stupidity and don't go making generalizations.

you ever listened to Andy Griffith's comedy bit, "they called it football"?

Ok imagine for a moment a reckneck/hickish verbage.

think twang:
What you just said right there is what this here reminds me of...

Who you think has been passing down football tickets for generations to UT games? Jethro's inlaws or the Rockefellers?

I hate to say this, but I find it very very difficult to find a UT fan I can actually talk football with. I hate to say that but that's what I've experienced. They either are total rednecks who know nothing about football or are fellow students that just hear what I said around them and repeat it like they know what they are talking about. I literally listened to a fellow student of mine behind me in class talk about for literally about 10 minutes how Tennessee was stupid in their QB recruiting and should have brought in a JUCO that could sit behind Stephens and Crompton and then take over. I guess they'd never heard of Nick Laimison...everyone agreed with him and he thought he was a genius.

Oh...and the local Co-op isn't exactly known to have the smartest people in the world anyway...

See....generalizations.
