Do we have it in us to have a mistake-free game against Bama?

The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

We don’t have to perfect, we just have to make fewer mistakes than Alabama.

Not so sure about that. We probably need to win the TO battle by at least 3 to have a shot to keep it close. If we have 1 TO and they have 2, they still likely beat us by 21. We both know if the game gets a little uncomfy for Bama, there will be a lot of yellow laundry thrown on us

If it was me, I would at least target reducing the mistakes' spectacular nature. I mean like I wouldn't throw an underhanded pick six deep in the other end zone when a running play has been called. You can't control everything, but you can choose not to do anything nutty.

You know you have to play mistake-free with Bama. They will take full advantage of any slight miscues -- let alone major ones. What does it take to keep us from getting rattled and put together the very best game to beat them? Trying to keep hope alive here.

Hmmmm, give me 24 hrs to ponder this question.....

On second thought......ehh nevermind

HA HA HA HA NO JG and the offense won't let that happen. And it doesn't matter. AL ison one planet and Vols are on another and the planets are not close to each other.

The only way we are going to beat them is if we come out and do something so bizarre and unexpected the entire game that it completely confuses Saban. Something along the lines of the Dolphins coming out against the Patriots and running the wildcat. They had no answer for it because it was so off the radar. We could play mistake free football and still lose to Alabama but if we do something to throw them off their game then we might have a chance.

Nothing will keep this team from making mistakes. Also, we could play mistake free football and still get boat raced because our offense is horrid even if they dont make mistakes. You cant play conservative offense which is our bread and biutter because thats the only way you can keep JG from making bad mistakes.

Either way we lose this game badly.

It doesn't matter. We're going to get embarrassed. Again.

We were stomped last week in a game that we were supposed to win. I think it is time we win big in a game we are supposed to lose. I'm ready to see a CJP coached team shock some people...and not in the wrong way.

This week I say "DREAM ON"

I am 100% convinced Pruitt is not the kind of coach that can win a game he's not supposed to win and he's 100% the kind of coach that can lose a game he's absolutely supposed to win.

He should have never seen the field again in an orange uniform after that play. He literally dropped the ball into his hands...
Just like Saturday when he threw those passes straight to the KY players.
Intentional

Um, **** no we don't. Pretty sure Pruitt has managed to have his team start off 3/4 quarters with penalties all in one game before. Not to mention both sides look so horribly coached that they would still make mistakes even playing against the breeze.

Nutty is the right word. Too many of those seen over the last few weeks.

Last year going into this game I expected a poor showing by the Vols. We played Bama a great game through 3 quarters. With JG being Jekyll/Hyde and Pruitt refusing to let any other QB have any significant snaps, I have no idea what we will get this year. JG could play lights out and we make this game fun to watch or he could throw 3 pick 6's by half.
Boy, weren't we doing some good things last year. We were moving the ball and not getting blown away. I thought (gulp) we had a chance to come back and get a legitimate win. And then...JG happened. Then it was all she wrote...

Thinking about what you just said...I see the validity in it. We have to pounce first and keep doing things they would never expect. Crazy things that they would not have planned for. QB running plays. Special teams doing things they haven't done so far. Defensive schemes like GA did to us. Threw us off balance those did. We never could get back on track.
