Do we have anyone better than Crompton

Lets not make Ainge out to be a god here (remember the no look pass out of his own endzone at LSU a few yrs ago). He threw off his back foot and would never take a hit. Yes he would've done better tonight but how can you ask basically a rookie qb to throw 41 times in the season opener at the rose bowl (esp when you're averaging 6 yards a carry).

Crompton had really good numbers against a LSU defense that was the best in the country when he played them

That was because of Meachem.

Take Meachem away, and you would have seen a game like tonight.

Lots of uncatchable balls.

Why didn't we roll crompton out and utlize his mobility against that rush? He showed heart when he tucked it and ran and he threw the deep ball well all night (but that was about the only balls he threw well).
