Looking over current standings, we may be in a tight spot when it comes to getting a bowl invitation, assuming we win out.

The SEC has 9 spots, 8 of which are already filled. The last 3 teams with eligibility are Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Georgia.

So, assuming Georgia and Tennessee both get eligible, I'd be concerned about whether we get an invitation over a team that destroyed us.

It's a grim thought. I think we need to root for Georgia to lose to GT in order to help solidify an invitation. In addition to beating Vandy and KY of course.

Dude, we're TN and in the SEC. WE win out we'll be somewhere. It might be a chicken bowl or rice bowl or rental car bowl or some compnay you've never heard of and won't ever again bowl ... but we'll go bowling.

6 wins will get us a Bowl bid. Music City or Liberty Bowl are all in Tennessee. I think either one would love to have the Vols. I hope we play in Nashville. They would sell out the Titans stadium.

So, there's no real strict limitation which would prevent the SEC from playing more than 9 teams in bowl games?

There might not be enough eligible teams to fill all of the bowls around the country.

no. the only strict limitation the BCS has is never put an undefeated SEC team into the NC game if you can put a cheating USC undefeated team instead.

Ole Miss has to beat BOTH LSU and Miss St. to get bowl eligible -- not going to happen.

It would be glorious is Ga.Tech could find a way to beat UGA and keep Georgia out of a bowl game.

Tennessee fans travel -- we get a bowl game just for that reason.

Definitely. Tennessee travels well and a game like the Music City Bowl would jump at the chance to have UT in Nashville.

Will not happen. Espn, rivals, scout & Oprah hates us...

Now, if Chaney can find some way to hook up with Hannah storm & Miley Cyrus, we're bowling!!!!

The Pac 10 is not using all of their allotted spots. Tennessee can just borrow 1 that they arent using. The Music City bowl would be great. Especially if its against UNC. If Hamilton doesnt mind that too much...

We've got a slight chance even at 5-7. There may not be enough teams with 6+ wins to fill all the bowls, with a new one being added this year and USC ineligible.

If tennesse and Georgia both go bowling we go to music city and Georgia goes to liberty. Pretty much confirmed. If georgia loses and we win out might be possibility we go to liberty.

why would we drop to the liberty bowl if georgia loses?

yes we will. especially if the current scenario plays out where LSU goes to an at large BCS bowl; that opens up another SEC tie-in

as someone else said, why would UGA losing drop us further down?
