Haven't seen it once. I was suprised they didn't try to run it against UTM and I don't recall seeing it against Oregon.

Now the way I see it, the Duck game showed what we need to do. Especially given our QB reality. We have Poole, Oku, and Neal-three dangerous backs. We got freshman in the OL but they're big and willing as far I've seen. We have the reality that our only real weapon is the run but since our opponents know this too, they can just stack for it and stop it. So what did the Duck game show we need to do? Ok, I'll tell you, operate out of the old wish-bone formation. No I'm not joking, until we can throw the ball this is the best chance we get to make the run game really work for us.

teage could run it he was a QB in high school... we need to thrown the freaking playbook against florida...there is NO reason to play conservitive. we have nothing to lose. tennessee needs to get away from this boring style football...run run playaction is not going to work anymore...thats what got fulmer fired...
I think we all may be missing the point just a little. As Dooley has said, it is a process. Does he want to win? Of course he does. But the process is to become the very best at what you can do. Along the way add more and more. As the process continues, you become the best you can be at more and more things. Can you imagine what we would be seeing if everything was thrown at the players all at once? I think that they would be doing many things poorly. The more you suceed at doing what you can do well, the more opportunities you will be given . Fundamentals are the key. Consistent fundamental soundness will win games, ocassionally with inferior talent.

I would love to see anything to get a spark going on offense. Poole is working his butt of and is having a great season thus far, but defenses will stack the box, a la Oregon, and force Simms to throw the ball. Would love to see Teague (or Rod Wilks for that matter) run the wild-cat, especially if the offense isn't sharp at the beginning.

I am not a believer in that this game "makes or breaks" the season. BUT a win here would go a LONG way. It would provide a ton of energy for the team, as well as the fans. I think Dooley will do a good job of keeping the team motivated, but we know how fans are when we start 1-2. A win here changes the rest of the season because of the fans. Neyland will be rocking this Saturday. But if we flop in this game, attendance and noise will go downhill.

Was this a Bloom County reference?

I am assuming someone else is taking the G-Gun role this week. From what I saw against Oregon, it could be a real weapon for us, and we need to take pressure off Simms.

Billy Madison:

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
