Do we beat Florida?

I get it now... You get a hard on by criticizing Brantley... Seriously, you're obsessed with our "QB Problems". If the only argument you're relying on is that Brantley could screw up against Tennessee, then I don't know what to tell you.

Bray is a better QB than Brantley, but just because he is, it doesn't mean hes gonna march into the Swamp and put up 400+ yards, multiple TD's, and help Tennessee blow out UF.

I think that's all the ammunition I need is it not? This is a TN board, if you don't like me talking about "your" QB, I'm sure there is a Florida board that is saying Brantley is confident after 1 TD and 2 INTs vs. FAU. Maybe you can go feel good by reading it.

You're quite wrong about that. The Gator boards just feel slightly relieved about his performance, on Saturday because he looked like he knew what he was doing, and he was sure of himself.

Oh wait, I'm really saying Brantley's play on Saturday makes him an all-star...

/sarcasm

What did Brantley do against that level of competition? 1 TD, 2 INTs and that was at the swamp.

Pay no attention to Demps or Rainey. It's not as though the running game ever factors in when we play.

Clearly UF's only hope to beat UT is for Brantley to throw for 400 yards and 4 TDs. Since he couldn't do that against FAU, UF is screwed.

So how am I wrong about that? I said go to a Gator board and hear about Brantley's confidence. And you just said they are relived he is confident?

Good luck lining up in the I with those two and throwing swing passes all game.

And that's pretty much what the Gator fans on here, including me, are saying... Go find a post on here that a Gator fan has said he would be an all star after the game Saturday.

And all I am saying is, I will put my hope on our offense while you put your hope in Brantley. I like my chances.

You keep posting as though UF's only offensive weapon is John Brantley.

Hopefully UT's defensive coaches share your misguided opinion.

At this point, i would call the UT vs UF game a toss up.

I think my very first post on this forum was that the winner of the UF-UT game this year would win the East. I'm sticking by that.

Also, saying its a toss-up isn't really a stretch. It will be close, no matter who wins IMO.

We agree on this!

The play of our young lb's will be critical, i'm a little concerned there. I like the matchups everywhere else though, should be a fun game.

I like the match up of Florida's front 7 on D vs. UT's offensive front. UF seems solid up front, while UT seems to be still trying to gel. If Floyd is back as well, I think UF's front 7 will dominate the game, especially after watching Montana come up with 3 sacks yesterday and UT managing only 3.5 YPC against a FCS team.

I also like the match up of Florida's OL against UT's front 7, especially with the type of offense Florida is running right now. The backs have 3 legitimate vertical running lanes to look for, and with the youth on the defensive front for UT, I like UF's chances of winning the battle on the ground.

UT's only real advantage that I see is the apparent weakness of UF's secondary. But it's still unclear how big a weakness that is because FAU couldn't throw at all with all the pressure coming from UF's DL.

I will make a legit prediction closer to game time after I see UT vs Cincy and how UF progresses from game 1 to game 2.

You guys may or may not beat us. Having the game in the swamp should help. But, either way, I think claiming youth is a bit of a cop out. Nine of the 17 true freshman in this year's class played for UF Saturday. That doesn't even count starting redshirt freshman Chaz Green, etc.

Good luck against Cincy.

I don't get your POV that claiming youth is a cop out. Young players make mistakes. That's why you prefer to not start a freshman if you have a senior that has comparable skill. If UF starts as many freshmen and still beats us , obviously you can conclude they are better players or at least they were for this game. I don't think any UT fan is delusional enough to claim the majority of our players are more skilled than UF's monster classes they've been reeling in. At the end of the day, UT has enough talented players to win if things go their way, but it would definitely be an upset simply because of the talent gap.

We have a very serious challenge coming up with Cincy and I hope our players aren't even thinking about Florida yet. I'd bet our coaches have the UF gameplan buried deep under the stack right now.

All I meant, wezcoast, is that both teams are young. Not sure that the losing team should plead "youth" no matter who wins. No deep meaning here.

I'm thinking a 24-21ish type of game. I don't think it will be a shootout.

I hope this is true. Tennessee's roster on defense is better, but really, it couldn't have gotten much worse. It is still miserably thin. If TN defense can even slow up the fla. O (which is not great), then that leaves it in the hands of the offense to come up with a few big plays, which I think they can do.

FL definitely has the edge on paper, but the big play potential of hunter and Rodgers and bray give TN a realistic chance.

Yeah because FAU is the measuring stick to gauge greatness from. Look Mr Koolaid sipping Gator fan. He may be this he may be that, but if you're basing your assessment off of last nights game against FAU then prepare to be disappointed. Besides, his numbers indicate that Demps and Rainey did most of the work like usual. In fact.... i really didn't see much difference in the UF offense at all. Get the ball to Demps and Rainey in space and let them do their thing. They've been doing that for a couple of years now.

You want to feel good about your team i know, but they'll hit some speed bumps along the way.

Haven't Demps and Rainey been at UF about 10 yrs now? Man I wish they would go away already! Too bad death threats to your girlfriend are not that big a deal at UF.

Rainey and his GF settled that away from the court as far as I know. He wasn't charged with anything either.
