This is not one of those “who do you hate more” threads. I’m just asking from only the Vols perspective I feel it really matters who wins that game or who wins the East.
Since we recruit head to head more against Georgia, I guess if it matters at all that’s we don’t want the Dogs to win. And yet, we also don’t want Mullen to look like the savior in Gainesville.
Can’t they both lose?

If I were to choose, I'd rather want UGA to win. I'm not 100% sold on Mullen's recruiting so if they win the East, that may give Mullen a bump there. UGA is gonna recruit win or lose this game...

Tennessee needs to win more recruiting battles against Georgia than Florida. Right now everyone in Georgia believes Kirby is the next Saban. Two losses in season three with top five recruiting classes would make some start to question that. That could go a long way on the recruiting trail.

I also live in Georgia so, gulp, "go gata".

Well, it doesn't look like weather will cause the game to be canceled, so, I'd prefer UGA be victorious. Mullen or no, just cannot wish the Gators well.

Anyway, I think that UGA has a better shot at defeating Alabama, should the Sabanites make it to the SECCG.

I would argue we need UGA to win this one. UGA already has a killer recruiting class and I don't think that changes if they win. Florida though could capitalize on a win here and rev up recruiting. We need the Dawgs to just pulverize Florida.

Hard for UGA's recruiting to get much better than it has been, and they're always going to get their share. UF recruiting is a sleeping giant that we have no desire to see awakened. Therefore go dawgs.

Pretty much what I was about to say. I don't see them wining the East making much more of a difference in recruiting than what it is already.

And Fawk Florida. Period.

UGA wins the cocktail party and then they go and get crushed by Kentucky. Then Kentucky comes to us and we beat them but they still can make it to Atlanta with two conference loses because they have the h2h wins. Then KY gets steamrolled by the Tide. Best case scenario in my mind but probably never going to happen. Can't stand the Gators or the Scientologist, hope they lose all of the rest of their games.

Sounds good.
What is the Scientologist reference?

I have to admit that Georgia losing is better for us as a program. The bottom line is that we need the perception to be that Georgia was overhyped. It will set them back in recruiting and give us time to catch up before they become Alabama jr. I am not worried about Florida because if we do our job we can keep up with them on the recruiting trail. They will still get murdered by Alabama and even if they pull a top 10 class we have a chance to beat them next year and reset the ledger.

There is no way that I will be able to watch that game and root for either team though.
