Josephs - Doesn't matter. Overrated
McCoy - No
Staley - Hope so.
Brazzell - Needs to
Based on what grading/rating is Josephs overrated?

Surely not this ranking

When you look even further, you find out Josephs is one of the only players to grade with an 85+ in run defense grade and pass rush grade. Josephs finished with an impressive 91.4 run defense grade and an 86.4 pass rush grade, which showed he is one of the more complete EDGE rushers in college football. A lot of the time, you will see a player good at either run defense or pass rush. It is rare to find one good in both, but Jospehs is one of the few that is.

I keep hearing about how he grades out well by NFL scouts. I haven't seen that. Why are his sack numbers not better?

Sack Numbers are like batting average. It's not something you can directly control.

His pressure rate was over 18% by PFF, that's a top 15 mark nationally

He's been graded as one of the best absolute best EDGE run defenders in the country by multiple systems. He's been graded as well above average pass rusher. He's also a true senior, plenty of room to grow

From PFF: "Josephs was part of a deep rotation of Tennessee defensive linemen but he made the most of his 353 snaps. The junior led all edge defenders in the nation with a 91.4 run-defense grade in 2024 and was one of only three edges in America who earned 85-plus grades as both a run defender and as a pass rusher."

He’s a run defender, in the 4-2-5 scheme we run you want one main blitzed off the edge that we typically shift to the weak side, and a run defender on the strong side. His ability to play the run will get him on an nfl roster, if his pass rushing improves just a bit he’s basically jack sawyer

Get him on a roster? He is playing the LEO spot. I think the bar at UT from that spot has been raised a bit. Herring and Ross get me more excited.
