have to go outside the state to finish the rest of the 15 recruiting class? 2015 is loaded with instate talent and I know there will be a reduced number of total commits for the year.

Yes you must go out of state for some recruits, talent differences are insane with different school sizes and locations. For instance Miami Washington vs Norcross.. Which were both state championship teams

Absolutely..the talent in TN is getting better but not near enough to fill up a class. Still gotta get the speed out of FL, GA,SC and hopefully starting to be able to get back into VA and Ala kids that just wanna leave the state. Plus trying to tap into LA, MS,NC, OH and maybe Texas. Think the days of pulling elite kids from the left coast is pretty much gone. Its unfortunate because Fulmerwas grwat at pulling a few from Cali and also the other side with VA.

There is absolutely no reason why we need to EVER recruit outside of Knox County, maybe every couple years to go to Loudon, but that's rare

might want to include Blount county. Seem to have a lot of trophies there the last few years, right, Alcoa and Maryville.

I understand we are not Cali, Georgia, or Florida but we already have what, 7 commits? I looked at rivals top 25 for Tennessee and there were I think 11 4 stars. We only had one of the 4* being Jack Jones. Therefore I believe Butch can sign the other 10 knowing his and the staffs ability to recruit and recruit instate. How many do we play to take 20, 21? Outside of a QB outside the state. Why go outside of it to close the class out?

If it would make even even an eyelash worth of difference, I'd be for going to Moscow, Russia over Maryville, Tennessee.

If you are looking for an answer with some specific reasoning about why that would be a bad idea:

QB- No elite QB in-state in 2015.
LB- Our LB haul would be very weak.
RB- This is not huge need in this class but there is no elite RB's in-state in 2015.
DL- The DL depth in 2015 is not nearly as strong top to bottom as 2014.
DB- It would be possible to have an all in-state haul of DB's but it would require us pulling off big surprises and turning both McGraw and Sheffield. Without those 2, we can not adequately fill our DB needs with only in-state guys.

We 'could' have a good OL, TE (one), and WR (b/c we do not need big numbers) class from just remaining in-state guys. But outside of those positions it would fail miserably.
