Do Recruits regret committments?

I like to keep track of players that spurn the Vols and head elsewhere to play their college ball. This year I've been watching for M. Brown as well as the WR and RB that ended up at S. Carolina.

Alshon Jeffries has seen some playing time but at this point he only has 3 catches for 29 yards. Jarvis Giles also at SC has 28 carries for about 160 and a TD. Now Marlon Brown has yet to make a catch for Georgia.

These are just a few names but I wonder if the 2 WR's regret their decision? I don't think Giles would have played but with our depleted WR corps both Brown and Jeffries would have had a chance to see significant PT.

Just a thought

I doubt M Brown is regretting the missed opportunity to catch passes from Crompton.

They'll regret the decision in the next 2 years when our offense explodes.

I would imagine some recruits do, just like many people look back and question their own college choice.

I doubt Giles regrets his decision. He would be buried on the depth chart here, and he's getting PT at USCe.

I think the majority of them will not regret it. Most players make new friends and the college experience is the best of times this far in life. There are parties, girls (or boys if you're Jarvis Giles), experiences in classrooms, learning, being coached, trying to be the best and trying to gel with your teammates. Maybe some might regret their decisions, but overall, i think you'll find that most will have been thrilled with their decision.

We'll get a good look at a former Vol de-commit on Saturday night in Michael Goggans.

Thats speculation at best, there's no way of knowing. Giles decommitted before Brown really became interested, and Brown still committed despite the fact we had Oku. Giles and Oku were both committed at the same time, then Oku backed off... then he came back. Maybe Oku wouldn't have come back if Giles remained committed?

All I know for sure if that I'm happy with what we got, USCe can have Giles.

I agree with Giles, I'm glad he didn't come cause I don't think BB or Oku would have come. The M Brown thing really kills me. This kid was all world and is down in Ga sitting the bench. Part of me feels sorry for him cause the only reason he's a Georgia is grandma. Now Alshon is already playing the part in a long line of gas pumpers

every school has that ...prob could ask Nuke the same thing... or you could be Mitch Mustain ... still sitting the bench

If I were Julio Jones I would be regretting things. Him in that offense is a terrible waste of talent.

Actually, I think it would take a few Big time WR's...especially with MB's height...to make Crompton look somewhat competent.

Great point. Nuke would likely be starting at Florida now due to the injury to Debose and no one else being able to stay healthy. He's perfect for that Percy Harvin type role.

I always wonder if WVU players regret going there because they're just playing in the fossils of a once proud system. I always ask myself how Rich Rod isn't able to steal at least half of WVU's commits.

I think a lot of these young people make decision they regret. Look at the players that have left UT. It happens to all schools and to most people somewhere. Its human nature to second guess yourself,especially if you are young and think you have all the talent in the world 'on the bench'. jmho:ermm:
