Do our players know???

Yurcich didn't Kiffin us. We waited too long. I am sure Pruitt has been too busy recruiting, he will get a OC but after what he seen for a year he knows he has to get alot better football players in here. Let the man do his job people.

Absolutely. SMDH.

Because people posting on a friggin message board are completely stunting Pruitt and Fulmers efforts to hire an OC. Right. 🙄🙄🙄

People are getting ridiculously stupid with this line.

If anyone associated with the search in an actual decision making capacity is on here scouring posts and letting the good people of VN get in the way of their jobs, then they deserve to be fired.

And Oklahoma fired Stoops in October and just named his replacement this week.
Alabama still hasn't named Enos OC.

Doesn't seem to be any set standard.

No but it shows at least a couple of schools can rebound quickly from staff turnover.

And Oklahoma and Bama may have been a little more preoccupied lately than the Vols.

Yeah I know what he meant but was surprised he said it. He said something about teams being so loaded with talent that it didn't matter who the oc is. That's a tad concerning to me considering we are years off from having that kind of talent for it to not matter.
Imo, all he meant was that he was focused on getting talent in here first or it wouldn't matter who he hired. And I believe even that was just a deflection because he wasn't going to talk about the search.

I think most know but it's more entertaining as a "gotcha" moment.

Scenerio: A player or group of 20 year old players have been told who the new OC is.
They are now anxious to talk about it. So now their neighbor, or girlfriend or family or high school is told who it is.
Now with social media, the whole world knows
There will be no OC hiring but merely a promotion from within. Nothing to announce

There are other examples also, just gave 2 schools everyone knew about.
Quickly won't mean right if the fit isn't.

Not sure you're looking for objectivity though?

Lol, wait, you really think that's what he meant?

Smdh.

Hell...WVU and Miami replaced their head coaches in less than a week after both got blindsided.

It's almost like the brain trust at UT with a first time AD and first time head coach doesn't know what it's doing.

What about Alabama and Oklahoma taking there time to make announcements and hires, guess they don’t know what there doing either

Yeah I can see that. I could tell he was getting pissed about the questions lol.

How much experience at DC did Ruffin McNeill have at Oklahoma when he was moved to DC after Stoop was fired?

How much experience does Enos have as an OC and head coach?

Looks like 2 programs that had built in back up plans to me so they could take their time on hires.

Only reason this wasn't more pressing is the fact that UT couldn't handle their business against SC, Vandy, or Missouri and make a bowl game.

He has to interview a certain amount of prospective coaches before hiring someone. Pretty sure the correct terminology is "due process" but I could be wrong and someone with more knowledge can correct me.

Everyone always wants to find a conspiracy instead of trusting the 2 men in charge. We have great leadership on the Hill now. Gotta have faith peeps

I don’t care either way but, how many did Miami interview after MR retired. They had another coach in less than 24 hours. But I think they are a private school so maybe that’s in play.

For some reason I thought people were saying that our recruits and current team knows our OC coming in. Is this still true???

Be patient. It will still take a couple more days for CJP to be turned down by every possible OC candidate in the NFL and every division of NCAA!

If nothing else, the UTAD knew going in they have virtually zero credibility with fans and the media when it comes to making rational hires after an efficient process.

Knowing that, if you are going to take longer than most schools in the process, or if things haven’t gone your way during the process, you MANAGE THE MESSAGE. We are absolutely incompetent when it comes to this. If they were on top of the messaging, I doubt there would be nearly the angst and conjecture, and the true blue bestest Vol fans in here wouldn’t feel the need to personally attack anyone expressing a view that the UTAD might just not be completely on top of this process.

If you are efficient as heck, you don’t have to worry about the message. It speaks for itself. If you are going to slow jam it, you have to manage the message during the slow process.

Could have said they wanted to look at potential NFL options and bought themselves a lot of good will and time.

As it is, looks to be a prototypical coaching search in Knoxville.

Flipside meaning could be that we shouldn't worry if he hires a miniature donkey because nobody is going to do much with our offense for a few more recruiting cycles. If that is what he meant, I think it was a slip to let it out.

Another example of incompetent messaging. And that is part of a HC job.
