DO NOT fire Dooley.

Dooley will win just wait he lost all his best players for the year. Take all of Stanford's Best players off there team and the win 5 games. Face it you cant win without your best players.

I am so tired of reading posts like this.

We lost to Kentucky and almost lost to Vanderbilt. 'Nuff said.

Honestly guys, if Dooley gets fired to most everyone here's best wishes; WHO WILL WE HIRE? Dooley knew what he was getting into and he's man enough to deal with this crap, even from you all.

Listen to me: No top-dollar coach like Chip Kelly is going to come to a program in the toughest conference in the nation in the middle of an awful rebuilding stage. Nobody. Some want the "easy road" and go to a place where they'll easily win 11 games a year and a conference title. Others simply want to go to their home roots, which there is nothing wrong with that at all.

Dooley is 200 miles away from Athens, GA but yet he is STILL here in this mess and willingly trying to beat the hell out of his own dad's school. That takes guts. That is the "alpha-male" type personality that only SEC coaches these days have to have. That is truly something special. THAT is a Volunteer.

Even though most of you now have lost faith, I haven't. and as a fellow Vol, I beg of you not to push for Dooley's departure, it would be the worst move yet to happen to our program.

Just to spin it a little, who would hire Dooley if we fired him? I can't think of a single top tier school that would want him.

UT has its history, facility, conference, and national recognition. Not saying we should fire him, just sayin'...

No, Dooley was man enough to come in when everyone who most thought was a better person for the position TURNED US DOWN! Look, he's not gonna make every politically correct decision, but he took on this task and embraced it. I wish I could be on his staff because he's all VOL. Us against the world and those who pretend to love us, but don't. He's brought in 2 straight top 15 classes and has us who understand the rebuilding process looking forward to the future. Kiffin knew what was coming and bolted. Dooley saw it, came in, and is now weathering the storm. I salute the man just for doing so when no one else wanted too. As a UT fan, it's time to stand by the guy who came into this situation going into the worse time (even though many of you thought it was the UK loss) and is trying desperately to lead us out of it. We owe him!

I'm not sure I'd fire him right now, but the "all Vol", " we owe him" crap is ignorant logic.

on Dooley. He inspires nothing from his players and no loyality from his staff. And to all those that say he stuck his neck out blah, blah in taking this job, he got a six year contract that more than quadrupled his pay and he goes from La. Tech to The University of Tennessee, what kind of decision is that? We call it a no-brainer around here. Get his no coaching butt out on the street.

Either this is Derek Dooley mother, Vince Dooley, or Derek Dooley himself. No way any real vol fan is going to say keep a coach when the writing has been on the wall the past few weeks we loose our WR Coach then recruits decide to be EE's at other institutions, now our DC and LB are gone. NO ONE HAS FAITH IN DOOLEY. You are a troll my friend not us as a fan you should expect more from your team. You are not a VOL fan but a CDD fan simple as that. And just because you have and ALPHA MALE mentality don't mean you the alpha male my man. He has been getting beat like he's the OMEGA MALE. And the reason why he's 200 miles from athens and still is here because NO ONE WANTS HIM his assistants are sought out 100 times more than him.

I don't believe that. I do believe that Hamilton made the decision way too fast.

Mehhh, looked pretty sketchy there Lyls. Not certain there were nearly as many options the further the search went on.

I wish i shared the same enthusiasm as you.

Don't get me wrong, I've been a Dooley supporter but after the Kentucky loss, I lost all faith.

He simply is not a winner. Honestly, I'd rather blow the whole thing up and start over with a proven winner rather than go thru another year of mediocrity hoping the situation improves and then starting the entire process over again after next year.

The job is much more attractive than it was two years ago because the threat of NCAA sanctions passed and the roster is back up to 85. The AD will not have a problem hiring someone with a more impressive resume whether that move is made before or after the 2012 season. That aside, I find it troubling that so many Vols fans say we should keep Dooley because we can't do any better. Were you guys in diapers in the 1990s? We were in a really bad place when Kiffin left and Dooley got lucky as lucky gets in our moment of desparation. Truly, I liken Dooley's hiring to the hiring of Robbie Caldwell at Vandy. It's probably time to move on but I'm still supporting the guy because every indication suggests that he has the 2012 season to prove himself.

Let me get this straight:

It's Dooley's fault that we have a young team.
It's Dooley's fault that we are in the SEC, the toughest conference in the nation.
It's Dooley's fault that his coaches are not homegrown in the SEC or UT.
It's Dooley's fault that his coaches want to go closer to home, remains of a PAC 12 staff.
It's Dooley's fault that young talent can't keep up yet on the field.

So basically it's all Dooley's fault that he can't control the things that AREN'T in his power. That's your all's current sense of logic Negavols.

Im amazed at the people who are ready to fire Coach Dooley already. Really people in the last 2 seasons what did you expect, with the exception of the KY game he has won the games he was suppose to win and lost the games he was suppose to loose. And look at our defense the past 2 years they havent actually set the woods on fire, and the Def coordinator and LB coach leaves and the same people that want Dooley fired are upset that the coordinators are leaving??? Help me with that one??

UK HAD A WR AT QB!! How can this be overlooked. I don't care if Bray was on crutches, they should not have lost to UK.

let me get this straight:

It's dooley's fault that we have a young team. (please. Stop with this pathetic excuse.)

it's dooley's fault that we are in the sec, the toughest conference in the nation. (vandy went to a bowl, only 3 teams didn't get to a bowl.)

it's dooley's fault that his coaches are not homegrown in the sec or ut. (he hired them)

it's dooley's fault that his coaches want to go closer to home, remains of a pac 12 staff. (actually he can control this to a degree)

it's dooley's fault that young talent can't keep up yet on the field. (horrible coaching has more to do with that)

so basically it's all dooley's fault that he can't control the things that aren't in his power. That's your all's current sense of logic negavols.

keep blowing smoke and enjoy losing

LSU 2010, lack of halftime adjustments, regression of the OL/running game in 2011, lack of motivation exhibited and verbalized to the press by the team, KY 2011, no upset wins in two seasons and seeming inability to assemble/maintain a top flight staff are the things I lay at his feet. IMO, it's enough to merit a change.

Hahaha, almost forgot about Mike.

Given Hamilton's hiring history, here is how I envision one of his phone calls to a big time coach going.

"Hello, Mr Stoops. I'm Mike Hamilton, you've probably heard of me before as I am an excellent fundraiser. I'd like to talk to you about the vacant head coaching position at UT"

"Well, Mike, what kind of offer can you make me?"

"5 years/$750,000 per."

Click.

You act like They scored 40 points they only scored 10 points. Like i said Tyler couldnt cOmplete a pass. Once again we had no running game so we relied on the pass which we didnt have. We will be alot better next year.

Might be best to step away for a couple of days and let the dust settle. The front page is blowing up with a Vol's fantasy for DC and HC. We need facts about who is staying and who is leaving. None of this "if I was so and so" or "so and so for DC." Let Hart decide and stop giving yourself a heart attack.
