That was a hard hitting game. Some of the safeties for NMS seemed to be trying out for the Vols as a transfer player and were bringing it.

I would take either or both safeties, better than the ones we have.

I'm more concerned about rushing defense. Seems as though the opposing RB is 3 yds passed the LOS before he gets touched. We are allowing over 130 yds rushing per game. That is unacceptable, IMO.

The fact is we have to get bigger and stronger in the interior. We also have a ton of good speed rushers at D-end but we don’t have enough edge setters and bigger D ends to stop the run. We have to get more edge setters. Find bigger bodies that can still run. We need a better mix at defensive end. And we need some burger boys in the middle that are mean and can move. Campbell and Utley have big time potential, hopefully they continue to gain strength and mass. If there bodies don’t change some next year our strength and conditioning team needs to be questioned. You have to be able to win more trench battles than you lose.GBO

Haven't been able to run the ball enough against good teams to take the pressure off Joey. Not sure if it's more of a Oline problem or that fact they run at predictable times. The Dline hasn't had near enough push up front this year. They can't cover a slant or anything over the middle, QB has 10 yards whenever he wants it also. It's been frustrating to watch at times.

I am not sure that's the case. We have abandoned the run after some success in favor of throwing it, for whatever reason

Next year is looking worrisome at this point from a numbers standpoint and with our best guys graduating.

We planned true freshman way too much this year….next year they will be much stronger and be able to perform against SEC competition much better.
We will also go after 2-3 in portal.
We have good edge players coming back .
We will be in the portal market for 300 lb men
