Do Democrats enjoy paying more taxes?

Unless you are a hardcore post conventional person, most likely you do not "like" to play taxes. But Democrats and their ideology as a whole acknowledge that taxes are a key part in terms of allowing the government to fund for political institutions, infrastructure, and the aid to the less fortunate.

"Aid the less fortunate" in the political world = vote buying in many instances. Im sure many politicians don't care if you live under a bridge as long as you show up and vote D or R on election day.

The main argument many Republicans use to counter taxes is that there are many "hard earned" tax dollars being wasted on welfare and other financial aid due to many people taking advantage of it.

While this holds true to an extent, there are still many individuals and families across the country that do not abuse welfare, and are helped financially to approve their economic situation and lift them on their feet.

Welfare/Entitlement fraud far out weighs those that are really in a position where they can not take care of themselves.

It shows as a country that we feel stronger negative emotions when our money is being wasted than feeling positive emotions of our money given to charity for the greater good.

It shows that people don't consider government wealth distribution (by its decided means) as charity. Given the track record its understandable.

We live in a very competitive country where we begin to think about ourselves more than others. The idea that we might spend money that could not possibly affect us in a sense a personal aid is blasphemy for the majority of America.

Typical response when someone is trying to get into your pocket.

Random question, before you changed to your name to tumscalcium, you were tums. What were you before tums? I could have sworn you were someone else? Maybe not.

Nah. I've only been tums or tumscalcium.

Edit: I used to have a real nice pic of my ex as my avi. You may have just known me by that. Haha

Not true at all. Most see the government as the least inefficient way of doing business.

True, but the obstacle is to improve the economy without dissolving the middle class. Which is the bulk of the country.

I hope you have a bad acid trip while out west and that the sniper comes looking for you again

I'm just saying, for someone who constantly complains about the state of things, I don't see you offering many solutions.

When asked, you respond with a terribly vague answer.

"How do you intend on ending world hunger."

"That's easy, I'll just give everyone food."

Liberals think that other people are selfish and untrustworthy and therefore should be forced to pay taxes to support the "good" things liberals want done. They also tend to think of themselves as both "good" and as having done their part by simply being liberal. Therefore it is just "fair" that they have special deals to let them avoid taxes.

Fundamentally, liberals and more broadly "progressives" demand big gov't and loath freedom because they fear others will use their freedom in ways that do not conform to the liberal notions of "good" and "fair".

Small "L" libertarianism which includes a broad swath of Main Street "conservatives" in America promote small gov't with less power because they respect the freedom of other people and loath gov't interference.

We ALL tend to think that others think or feel like us. If you are instinctively selfish (not saying you behave that way) then you are more likely to think others must be "forced" to share. If your instinct is that others ARE your responsibility and that you should help them directly then you tend to believe gov't is a huge problem when it comes to helping people.

well stated :hi:

No, horribly stated. Basically, people who disagree with him are freedom hating sociopaths. Self-serving, overly pompous garbage like that gets us nowhere. There are plenty of kindhearted and coldhearted people of all political beliefs, and to pretend otherwise is...well, it's wrong.

Out of Curiosity, what are your ideological views on how this country should be run?

This is what I was asked....this would take a huge amount of time to answer in full....those of us that have a business to run simply don't have time to write political essays...go smoke some dope in the hookah with Persian Vol

You say you don't have enough time to post here while running a business, yet you post on here pretty much all day.

No, the bulk of the economy is small businesses, which the current administration is trying to ruin, as small business owners vote overwhelmingly conservative.

It won't be hard to find me. My car has the huge '08 and '12 Obama stickers and a massive hammer and sickle flag flying from it.

Don't forget this bumper sticker as well. Surely you have one.

Then why bother giving a splendidly ****ty answer in the first place?

People who smoke dope in hookahs shouldn't be smoking in the first place. Child, please.
