I don't think anybody "enjoys" paying taxes.

People just love voting themselves more money (not that they care where it comes from) when they can't tell themselves no.

Answer is no. Democrat politicians and other wealthy Democrats do everything in their power to limit their tax liability. John Kerry docked his yacht in another state to avoid taxes. Charlie Rangel lied on his returns. Obama paid 13% last year and 18% this year. These are just the recent examples.

It is an inevitability that I will pay taxes. Sure, the amount I pay bothers me, but I don't get on a message board and vent my feelings about it. Why you ask? Because it literally accomplishes nothing but gathering up the same dickweeds on here to have a big pow wow talking about how owebama is the worst thing to happen to this country since the civil war.

Yet you join the dickweed fest. Still no answer and only 11 posts. I commend you for posting though.

So if you don't bash Obama does that only garner dick status?....

Liberals think that other people are selfish and untrustworthy and therefore should be forced to pay taxes to support the "good" things liberals want done. They also tend to think of themselves as both "good" and as having done their part by simply being liberal. Therefore it is just "fair" that they have special deals to let them avoid taxes.

Fundamentally, liberals and more broadly "progressives" demand big gov't and loath freedom because they fear others will use their freedom in ways that do not conform to the liberal notions of "good" and "fair".

Small "L" libertarianism which includes a broad swath of Main Street "conservatives" in America promote small gov't with less power because they respect the freedom of other people and loath gov't interference.

We ALL tend to think that others think or feel like us. If you are instinctively selfish (not saying you behave that way) then you are more likely to think others must be "forced" to share. If your instinct is that others ARE your responsibility and that you should help them directly then you tend to believe gov't is a huge problem when it comes to helping people.

People who are extremely far left have a very difficult time understanding money and numbers.

And for those who do not have ulterior motives... they have a very difficult time understanding basic human nature and laws of personal economics.

Any behavior that is subsidized in order to remove painful consequences.... will be repeated.

When Dems and Reps together put together sweetheart deals for investors that allow them to make profits with guarantees of principles in order to promote some "good" (like solar, ethanol, high risk mortgages, et al) then they encourage bad risk taking. Without direct gov't interference, there would have NEVER been a housing bubble, Solyndra, Fisker, etc.

Taking the potential for negative consequences out of ANY free choices is like making someone a moral leper. Lepers lose nerve sensitivity causing them to feel no pain when they're cut, burned, bruised, etc. Pain keeps us from doing greater harm. MOST of what is wrong with our country on every level stems from the Progressive ideal that people should be able to make personal free choices and have society as a whole or more likely those who make responsible choices bear the consequences.

What's it like on that pedestal up there?

Unless you are a hardcore post conventional person, most likely you do not "like" to play taxes. But Democrats and their ideology as a whole acknowledge that taxes are a key part in terms of allowing the government to fund for political institutions, infrastructure, and the aid to the less fortunate.

The main argument many Republicans use to counter taxes is that there are many "hard earned" tax dollars being wasted on welfare and other financial aid due to many people taking advantage of it.

While this holds true to an extent, there are still many individuals and families across the country that do not abuse welfare, and are helped financially to approve their economic situation and lift them on their feet.

It shows as a country that we feel stronger negative emotions when our money is being wasted than feeling positive emotions of our money given to charity for the greater good.

We live in a very competitive country where we begin to think about ourselves more than others. The idea that we might spend money that could not possibly affect us in a sense a personal aid is blasphemy for the majority of America.
