Why oh why does the DMV have to be so complicated? I even made a dry run this morning so I'd be ready for the actual thing. I went in, they told me everything I needed to have and what I needed to do. So I got my affairs in order, went back and wouldn't you know it, there's another problem here and there and I don't have this or that.

This system needs to scratched and restarted. I am convinced that it's only there so people like us can go in there, get treated as if we're idots and then walk out while all the employees of the DMV snicker at us and call us names behind our backs.

Viva La Revolution!

Don't get me started on a USPS office. Nothing like government employees.

When did everything get so complicated?

One of the forms they gave me in my dry run required my sister's signature. (We're dealing with my father's estate and are co-executors) I told them she was in Boston and they told me to fax the form, have her sign it and bring it back. I did just that and went back to the DMV where they told me they can't accept a copy of the form, it had to be the original. This was the same woman who told me to fax it in the first place.

I swear on my life that they're just messing with us.

I'm surprised there isn't a weekly shooting at a DMV somewhere in this country.

And let me just add, if you live in Viriginia, you're really screwed at the DMV. Anyone on this board from Va can quickly verify that.

I have now decided that I need to marry a woman who works at the DMV. If I did that, I would probably only have to go two times in one day. That would be sweet.

There's a song called "Idiots Running Sideways" by The Legendary Stardust Cowboy that sums up the DMV and other civil service org.s perfrectly.

thank goodness the only time I have to deal with the DMV is if my license is expiring. I hope it gets a little easier for you OWB.

Haven't heard it, I'll have to look it up.

Thanks and they will.

The man does not lie.
I didn't know you were on the Va side. Lucky you.

Lucky me. It's day two of my adventure with the Dmv. I can only imagine the trials and tribulations this day might bring.

I spent a day and a half when I moved here getting tags and a new DL. It actually made me want to pack up and move back to AZ. It took almost 2 months to complete the process because they lost all the documents.

However, I will say that anything to do with the handicapped is handled as fast and efficiently as possible. I needed a temp HC tag last year and I was in&out in less than 5 minutes.

I haven't been to the DMV since I turned 21... and that was a breeze. Went in downtown Knoxville... no wait or anything. Got a new photo and off I was.

I had to renew this year, and did it all online. :) I love the internet.

Well, after 2 days and 4 visits, it's done. I feel really bad for telling that old lady off this morning, but she probably had it coming.

It's great isn't it rwemyss, I got pulled over in July and my plates were expired by one day, the officer told me to go home and renew on the internet. I could use the print out until my sticker's came in the mail. That was great.

There's a difference in just doing renewals and having to do business at the DMV.
