Play him.

And play Bituli as well.

Let Jumper man the OLB all game.

I'd rather him heal up for the next six games than play Saturday and get hurt again.

This is our situation, lose this game and the playoffs are off the table completely. Win this game and they are still a possibility. We can beat the next 5 teams with Jumper starting, but not this one. OJ Howard is too good.

As one other person mentioned, Butch said that the only player that is listed as questionable/doubtful is Weisman. Honestly, that is the biggest positive I took from his presser. That would mean Robertson is likely to play, as well as DKJr., McDowell, Hurd, and Vickers. Seems to me that the injury situation might not be as bad as we were expecting.

Disagree. We don't need Kirkland for the last six games (we should win them easily); we need him Saturday. Beating Alabama would effectively clinch the East and be a godsend for recruiting, so I say throw him out there.

If he reinjures the ankle we can shelve him again until Atlanta.

overall Butch was very composed and seemed really happy!!! he knows something we don't????

Yes he knows they gonna beat Bama's A$$ and most on this board doesn't have the confidence to think that. I do and I'm saying we pull a upset by 10! GBO!!

"Game time decision" is smoke screen for he will play but Bama will have to scheme both ways.

Not sure the motivation, but definitely a smoke screen. No one is a game time decision in this game. Our players play to be in this game. He is either go or no go. I just don't believe, when game time comes a player says sorry coach I can't go. Or if the coach says sorry you can't go, that a player can't talk his way onto the field.

DKJr is probably the most important loss UT has suffered so far. IMO, his return would be as meaningful to the D as Hall's was to the O.

If DKJ can't make the bama game, should we be hoping for a redshirt? I don't see much reason to play him in the next 5 games. Although could use him in Atlanta...hmmm

Saturday will make 5 weeks since he was injured. These ankle injured normally take 4-6 weeks to heal.

Indeed, but with the treatment available to DKJ the healing process is accelerated considerably over a regular person on the street.......he get the best treatment available

Did you not see the replay with DKJr's foot flopping around like a dangling participle in the VaTech game??

I'm not sure how they've got his foot stabilized to the rest of his leg this early but I'm pretty sure that IF he plays he will have a hard time being effective this week.

Unfortunately, and not being a Negavol here, but Gorilla Glue, duct tape and staples will be severely challenged to keep his lower extremity attached sufficiently for him to play this Saturday. :geek:
