it's time to develop. Four consecutive years with four different starters isn't doing our program any favors.

MacIntyre ****
Merklinger ****
Brandon *****

One of these players should be able to step up. If not, we aren't going after the right 4 or 5 stars.

+1

He’s got a lot of potential. He needs to go somewhere and let a QB coach actually coach him. He has so much natural talent that he was able to excel even with bad footwork and poor throwing mechanics (per the talking heads). Hopefully the people he’s listening to are telling him how great he could become vs how great he already is.

JMO..

Not his young QBs.

When you're blowing out a cupcake team, then give the qb backups plenty of time to play with the rest of the starters.

Too much time was wasted to get JA 200 yards per game.
Heupel’s own experience as a player is interesting to me. He was a transfer to Oklahoma and had already developed his skills as a college QB before joining Mike Leach’s offense. Leach taught Heupel offensive concepts rather than developing techniques.

There may be something to Heupel’s ability to thrive with transfers while struggling to get Nico up to speed.

So someone please help me understand the situation. Don’t we have two really highly rated quarterbacks in the wings? Wouldn’t it make sense to actually play one of those highly rated quarterbacks? Why do we have them if they don’t play?
I agree with you totally. If this trend continues we will not be able to recruit highly talented high school qb. Mac for sure wants to be here. Why not give him a chance. And you will have him for a couple of years. If he is good will enter the draft in 2 yrs. If we wait and he excels the next year we have him for one year

With all the great qbs that have worn Florida uniforms please do not let the one we get be the one we destroyed in Gainesville.

You’d rather pin your hopes to a true freshman? Wow
It worked out pretty good for Bryce Underwood, Malik Washington, Bear Bachmeier, Jaron-Kaewa Sagapolutele this year. Oh I almost forgot about Trevor Lawrence and Jalen Hurts. Sure would have been a bummer for Saban and Dabo not to put their hope in these guys when they were freshman. Would you like to argue this now?

How many of them are in the playoffs....

How many of them are in the playoffs....
BYU- 12th in CFP rankings
Michigan- 18th in CFP rankings
Maryland- not ranked
California-not ranked
Clemson- national champs with Lawrence
Alabama- National Title game, SEC OPOTY, SEC FPOTY, First team all SEC, National champ as a sophomore

I almost forgot- there is a guy named Peyton Manning who took over the starting job after the 3rd game of his freshman year. If I my recollection is correct, he lost only one game that year as a freshman starting QB. But hey, don’t pin your hopes on a freshman. They never pan out…..says fade on out, Yankee Doodle, and just my stupid qb ideas.

I proved my point here. But, we’re not talking about playoffs. We’re talking pinning our hopes on a freshman QB. No matter the record next year, Heupel is no where near the hot seat. I’d take my chances on Faizon and let him grow on the field.

If Fazion starts next year, it will be hard to win 6 games. He is not ready

Sure ya did bud.

I asked about this years kids. I'm aware of what Tua and Trevor did half a decade ago

And you know this how?
Are you so sure of yourself that you would wager a $50,000 bet on it? You are 100% confident that we would win 6 or less?
I know this because he is not ready yet. I also said it would be hard to win 6, not impossible. We will never know because he isn't starting next year.
