This is disturbing. Taken from RF..
Rick Neuheisel is as bewildered by our offense as anyone:
"Tennessee to me is a conundrum. You've got this dual-threat QB in Josh Dobbs who finished 4-1 last year... Had that epic comeback against SC... walloped Iowa in the bowl game and gave everyone these high expectations. So they start this season by beating Bowling Green who we now know is a great team. We watch them take a 17-0 lead vs Oklahoma. You were there for the game Chris. Was there anything more exciting and seen a crowd into more than anything like that? And yet after the first 2 plays of the 2nd half, Tennessee was held to 9 yds of offense for the rest of the half. When they needed to make a first down to help the defense they couldn't do it. By the end of the game the defense was spent. I don't see the marriage between offensive philosophy and the skill set of the QB. Josh Dobbs had 14 carries for 12 yds vs Oklahoma. I didn't see a lot in the way it generated yards... I didn't see them take advantage of Josh Dobbs' skill set. I think you're wasting your most valuable resource. Not one receiver for Tennessee right now has over 100 yds in receiving. That's ridiculous. Pig Howard, and I know he missed game 1, Marquez North, Von Pearson... And even the backs Kamara, and I know Hurds having a terrific year, but if all I have to do is stop Hurd then I'm going to live with Josh Dobbs in the pocket when I have Hargreaves in the secondary then I feel good about that. To me I think unless there's a complete transformation of offensive philosophy, and Josh Dobbs' legs don't figure into this game mightily, then I think Florida is going to take care of business.

"Just like Colin Kapernick at Nevada. Just like RG3 at Baylor. When you get the QB into running formations and give the defense the knowledge that guy's a weapon then you have to add an extra defender to the box. Then what do you do to the coverage... You make it simple to understand. And you're throwing downfield can come to life... rather than having to finesse throws. I don't see the logic yet in how Tennessee is playing offense. When they had a chance to get their signature win vs Oklahoma, they blew it. They had it won. They took the foot off the gas pedal. It was embarrassing to watch."
