Disney Finally Flipped! (Again)

The lines from Anakin in Attack of the Clones were some of the worst ever put to paper.

Agree. The overarching story works but individual scenes are trash which is kind of the opposite with JJ Abrams Star Wars.

Now I will say there are lines and scenes from the Last Jedi that give those Anakin scenes a run for their money.

I think Sequel Trilogy would have been better if they had just stuck with JJ Abrams all 3 movies (I think Snoke would have stayed the big daddy rather than having Palpatine somehow return). His style has flaws too.

Lucas screwed up in the Prequels by just having Yes men around him. He’s a great storyteller, horrible at directing and dialogue.

Yet as bad as some of the prequels were, they are Oscar worthy compared to Episode 8. That is the biggest pile of garbage I’ve seen from Star Wars. Jar Jar sucks, but he’s better than nursing milk from a space walrus or Mary Poppins in space. People my age that remember the excitement of seeing Star Wars as a kid got screwed out of seeing Han, Leia, Luke etc. together again. Now it’ll never happen. We’d been waiting since 1983. So Disney can kick rocks.

The television shows have been hit or miss at best. Seeing Luke again was awesome but some of the other stuff… yikes.

Television shows are always risky because the style and writing is extremely different from movies. I have liked most the shows but they are definitely not great tv.

Script writers who craft scenes for characters with special powers are like a teenage boys discovering their junk. They just can't leave it alone. They keep stretching and adding power which make the special abilities too powerful for the story to make sense. Once a character can hold a spaceship in place under full throttle, or fly through space, why would they ever use any weapon not as powerful as their special (expanded) powers, or run away from danger when they can fly? Ironically, the stronger they become the less emotional investment I have in their battles.

Lucas directed one great movie, Irvin Kershner directed the best one. Then, back at the helm Lucas directed a great 1/2 of a movie. He then drove the thing I to a ditch the second he trotted out an Ewok. I didn't care for anything Lucas did post Ewok. The prequels look like characters walking around in a cartoon world.

No, Episodes 4-6 came out in the '70s, Episodes 1-3 (prequels, origin of Darth Vader) in the early 2000s, Episodes 7-9 most recently
This is exactly why I can't follow the damn arc and it makes little sense to me. It seems impossible to determine where you are in the story. Like opening a book and reading random chapters.

Damn I am glad I never watched any of it.
Honestly just watching the original 3 is probably a pretty good approach. Empire Strikes Back is great

You and me both 😂 Almost every series on Netflix has a gay angle.. Yellowjackets, Invasion, Shameless, the Hunting Wives, you name it.. I have never seen so many gay people in my lifetime in the real world 😂 but it doesn’t bother me as much, because (one hopes) kids aren’t watching it

It won’t matter. People are Disney or they aren’t. Two of the most right wing Jefferson County Tennessee friends of mine go twice a year to the park and two cruises a year. It’s just something people are not willing to give up. It’s not like having another brand of beer on the shelf.
They must be loaded, disney is pricing out the middle class
