Their identity as a producer of “good for the whole family” entertainment is cooked. They are into a lot of other things - general entertainment, sports, etc. - but the Walt Disney label which used to mean good for all ages and consistent with traditional values is long gone. In retrospect, they should perhaps have created a holding company with a different name to do a wide range of things and kept the Walt Disney label for a more narrow product segment.
We are the same age so I am guessing you got your fill of these in school.Nice. I had never seen that. I was born in 77 so was too young when it was new. We didnt get HBO until I was like 10yo though so I wouldnt have seen it anyway unless it was shown at school like many folks in the comments witnessed.
I have not been on the "Disney is woke" bandwagon very much, but my daughter watched some of the Proud Family episodes last year and there were bits where they were doing spoken word and protests that would make a lot of people uncomfortable. I remember them repeating "slaves built this country" among a few other lines.
I liked Rogue One as well. I also thought Solo was pretty good.Rogue One? No way, it’s awesome.
But I’d watch Revenge of the Sith over any of the new trilogy.
Lol.I liked Rogue One as well. I also thought Solo was pretty good.
Revenge of the Sith wasn't bad, but just like with the other 2 prequels, too much focus was on CGI .... and the climactic battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan was a big disappointment.
"Don't try it. I have the high ground." - Obi-Wan Kenobi
Really? The most significant duel in the entire series was decided by who had the higher terrain. What a letdown.
"That high ground business is a crock of $hit and you know it, Obi!" - the upper half of Darth Maul
I would too, I've watched that one a ton. But still not 100% sure if it's a meaningfully more well-made movie or if it just had a massive built-in storyline advantage with the Vader thing
Really liked the prequel where Anikan became Darth Vader... think it was Revenge of the Sith. Great cast with Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Samuel L Jackson. Didn’t know if I would like them, but they did a good job with them. The Last Jedi was pretty good too.No, Episodes 4-6 came out in the '70s, Episodes 1-3 (prequels, origin of Darth Vader) in the early 2000s, Episodes 7-9 most recently

Certainly a better story, which is why I’d rather watch it than the new trilogy. There’s no denying that the new trilogy is visually well done, but the storylines are lacking imo.I would too, I've watched that one a ton. The lines from Anakin in Attack of the Clones were some of the worst ever put to paper.I recently watched all 9 (and Rogue One) in order. The Prequel had a good over arching story line but poor individual scenes and dialogue. It was like it had execution issue.
I think the Sequel Trilogy (except the Last Jedi) had good individual scenes but a rough/incoherent over arching story. A big reason for the Sequel Trilogy's struggles was the Last Jedi which was just bad all around and was a horrible movie. It had cringing scenes, notably the opening scene with the Star Fighter mocking the commanders for that attack. That came off like a Looney Tune episode and not Star Wars.
As a kid (80s and 90s) I wondered how the FCC and censorship got out of control, why there was so much they couldn’t say on TV or the radio even though I hear it in real life… but now I understand. That makes you uncomfortable? LOL
Unwanted immigrants built this country, too. Hide your kids from these truths!
