Dismissed? No excuse! Injuries? No excuse!

8-4 and once again lose to FL. As bad as I want to say they will beat them, I can't, Fl has won seven in a row.

With bowl 9-4

The schedule allows UT to win as many as 9 games without having to beat a team currently ranked in the top 20. Even without DR I would call anything less than 8 wins a failure.

9+maybe an SECCG birth+BCS bowl win or exclude the SECCG birth and BCS bowl win with just a bowl win..either way, still a good season,IMO.:)

8 wins including a lower tier bowl victory. Had a chance at something special, but DR blew that.

you people drive me crazy, with your mediocre expectations. i expect us to play well enough to win the national championship every single season. no exceptions or excuses. this is Tennessee not Vanderbilt. 14-0.

btw, Parcells was 26-33 in his first 4 years as a HC.

Good thing he isn't judged on those early years, though I'm sure a bunch of people thought he sucked too.

He didn't throw his players under the bus he took responsibility. His teams never quit on him they were just out talented. So try as you might DD is no Tuna.

I didn't say he was Tuna. Just laying out the stats.

The other junk you put in is normal bs. Like you know what he said in his 3-8 collegiate year.

Last, if you don't think Parcells has called out players more aggressively and on a bigger stage, you prove yourself to be foolish again.

You guys brought up Parcells, I didn't, and DD's record is very similar. Let me guess, you want to judge him in his 4th year and on with the Giants.
If you were a giants fan back then, you would have called him a loser.

I am not going to get depressed to the point that I can't enjoy football this year (like I have the last 2 years). The fans have to go into this year realizing there are no excuses. UT will win the majority of their games this year, or there will be a major overhaul in the offices.
Injuries? I don't care, it's time to win. Dismissed? Had to happen. GO VOLS!

IT IS TIME TO WIN!!

So Vol fans, what is the win total for the year?

I say 8.

What say you?

Should still be 9 but 8 gets him another year. With 8, I think it takes a '13 miracle for him to be the coach on 1/1/14.

Dooley is no Tuna. Dooley also didn't throw players under the bus any more than any other coach does. Being honest about guys struggling or not playing well is not "throwing them under the bus". I have challenged you and others many times on this. You have not given a legitimate example.

Fulmer came much closer to doing this than Dooley has. Spurrier and Miles definitely come closer.
