"While the rest of the team went through a grueling three hour practice Monday morning, Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards spent the entire practice time with strength and conditioning coach Aaron Ausmus, as well as other members of the strength program, who put them through a litany of running and conditioning drills that never stopped."

Man, I wonder what they did... I got caught smoking in HS football camp and I had to do supermans on a class day from 6-8 and during lunch. This has to be a strong violation they committed.

Not to mention no arrests since CLK took over... and for that matter, I can't remember hearing of a significant internal disciplinary action in the same timeframe.

So you're saying discipline has never been on the Hill? That a grueling practice and performing a litany of conditioning drills brings discipline?

Discipline will be back to the Hill when a player woodsheds his teammate for not being in line.

It would be interesting to take a national poll and have fans guess off the top of their head how many arrests and recruiting violations we have compared to UF, UGA, etc. Who was the last current player to get arrested?

I thought this thread might be about VolWindy's trip to Knoxville.

Considering the thread starter I thought it would have nothing to do with discipline, the Hill, or quite frankly UT's football team.

Yeah I was thinking about starting a thread called "Urban Meyer signs contract with Notre Dame" and then talking about potatoes. I'm not really sure what's up with this stuff this morning.

Please explain......I would think that this is EXACTLY the time to get their attention.
Meaning all the incoming Freshman knew CLK and staff were no-non-sense type coaches before they signed here. They are here to win Championships not babysit. Glad they dished out some tough love promptly. My guess is these two learned a valuable early lesson and the rest of the team took notice too.

love it...

can you imagine how scary it would be for CLK to call you over for a conversation only to see Ausmus coming toward CLK as well. CLK whispers something in Ausmus's ears as Ausmus glares at you and grins. CLK leaves by saying, "They're yours Coach Ausmus." Ausmus just smiles and pops his knuckles as the sun reflects off of his freshly shaved dome and he says, "I'm gonna kill you today."

My god I just had a flashback from Parris Island. You describe it well

That freaks me out just thinking about it so I can't imagine experiencing it

They probably did something boneheaded at the beginning of practice... or may even have been late. The point is that I believe they learned a valuable lesson and most likely won't repeat it again.
