Disappointment..

It's not funny and 2016 is over with. I'd be more worried about this upcoming season so who gives a sh*t? I'm over it already.

Maybe you're just too easily entertained. Joke is on you OP.

Congrats op your humor is on point with the radio guys here in Chatt, the same one who went off about Shy Tuttle being a failure to live up to his 5 star swagger and all his bucket hat shenanigans, but knows Khalil will be a future NFL player. They thought it was the funniest thing ever too.

But Tuttle was a 4*......

And I don't actually live in Chatt.

Edit: Oh I see. That was the point. The radio announcers had them confused. Doesn't surprise me, but why was that funny?

Sorry chatt-town, I think I may have been confusing you with another poster from Chattanooga.

so sick of this **** where our fans are rooting for the coach to fail.

Nah. I don't want Butch to fail.

I actually want us all to be on the same page about our coach the way Bama fans are about Saban or the way FSU fans are about Jimbo.

Trust me, I dream of a world where Butch makes all the haters (myself included) eat crow and just plain out-coaches the HC's he goes up against. He calls ballsy plays consistently, doesn't let off the gas, and gets praised for his on-the-field ability.

I would love nothing more than to go into games thinking "At least we know we have a better Head Coach than them." Even if we lose, it would be great to not think we lost due to coaching.

I just don't see any of that happening when you're in your 4th year, and your team is capable of losing to Derek Mason's Vanderbilt. I would love to be proven otherwise.

You do realize Butch still has a chance to redeem himself this upcoming season? He's already hired new assistants and seems to be more relaxed than ever. Will that translate to the field? It's unknown until we see how the season plays out. Whether you or anyone else likes it or not, Butch is our coach until a change is made if necessary. Until then, quit whining about something that's done over with.

To say last year wasn't a disappointment is completely insane. But it's just coach speak I suppose

When things go side ways it's not a problem it's an opportunity.

The attitude of not having problems just solutions.

No need to be disappointed when the effort was there. The effort was there by we had problems(opportunities for improvement) executing a conservative yet solid winnable game plan.

He should have just admitted last season was a disappointment, not everything can have a positive spin. But I'm still a Butch supporter and hope he figures it out this year. Regardless of how much longer, he's still our football coach now and he will always have my support as long as he coaches here.

I also hope Jones succeeds at UT. I also just don't see it happening. He is simply too arrogant to allow his "new assistants" to actually do things the right way. He is so enamored with his MAC offense that he will not adapt to the SEC. I'll eat the crow if he proves me wrong! GO BIG ORANGE!

I'd call this "disappointing"...

But then again...Tennessee has seen MORE of this than the other the last 5 years (including TWICE under Butch)...yet the "Candy" jokes persist here?

I'm disappointed in Butch's on-field decisions, clock miss-management and play calling in key times (aTm offensive play calling I witnessed, with the game on the line, from the stands of Kyle Field in person). Anyone NOT disappointed in some/all of these...is delusional!

I have been very critical of Jones, but I thought he handled media day very well. I was impressed by what I heard, and feel a little better about this upcoming season now. It was especially encouraging to hear him talk about the value of having former head coaches on staff and he even implied they will have the freedom to do things their own way. It appears he is really learning from his mistakes and is growing as an individual.
