Disappointed

I think so. I'll try at least, but it always sucks me back in. Last year, I really got invested in our football team and the practice reports and all that, only to be again disappointed.

Then, I was invested in this basketball team more than a UT sports team since 1998, and it again leaves me very disappointed. I think maybe a few months off from the obsessions might keep me sane.

I doubt it. I bet I'll be posting regularly on the main board in a month or a week or a day. I like Volnation very much.
It is tough to invest these emotions and then it all stops at once.

The really hard part about watching the officiating in our game was that the first game was well officiated.

The MEMPHIS game was probably the best officiated game on the Season. Let's face it there is no consistancy. If it is possible for the NBA officals to be on a payroll or gambling, then, why isn't it possible for College officals to be doing both? Either that or why are they so inconsistent within games?

I hate looking forward to Games and wondering how much of a role the officals will affect the outcome. We were outplayed last night and the right team won but the margin of victory and the outcome may have been changed with more consistant officiating.

There should not be that much difference between a home and away game, between the conferences, and between the regular season versus the Tourney.

An interesting statement was made that the coaches do not get the game official list until the afternoon of the game. Why not make that list available the week prior. We could better prepare for their calls and start scouting officials versus other teams. This is BS but to even have the thought of having to prepare for officials is is BS.

Chism and Padgett would be murdering each other down low for position, but Tyler would hand check someone 17 feet from the basket and he gets whistled.

Bottom line is we had the best season UT basketball has ever had. 31-5 and Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row. If we didn't feel horrible about the loss, we wouldn't be fans. One reason I'm more upset is that our seniors did not go out (individually on a high note). This loss would have been easier to stomach had JaJuan and Lofton had good to great games in a close, losing effort.

the call on Tyler in the 2nd half as he was standing there looking at the guy dunk from behind was abysmal.

there were some atrocious calls. that, however, did not lose the game for us. it didn't really help either, but i can't say that's why we lost.

what about the call where Chism tapped the guy on the head??????

I wondered the same thing. And Howell, being a senior, didn't get to play!

What does that have to do with anything? We already have one program (football) that throws players out there based on seniority rather than ability. We don't need another one.

BTW, we didn't lose because of Howell not playing.

The first foul on Padgett was bogus... No contact at all... The UL fans here are all on the radio shows talking about how bad the officiating was as well... It just depends on what color glasses you are wearing... Bottomline, UL was called for 23 fouls and UT was called for 26, but 3 of those UT fouls were in the last 2 minutes when they were trying to stop the clock...

It was a difficult game to officiate with two athletic teams that play helter skelter full court defense alot of the time... They could call a foul everytime down the floor if they wanted to; so the fact that both teams were whistled for the same number of fouls seems pretty fair to me...

The officiating was bad both ways, no doubt. In the first game there were fifteen fewer fouls called in what was a defensive struggle but both teams were allowed to play the game. The whistles in our game started almost immediately and changed the way the game was played and coached, benefit to UL. Our depth definitely doesn't match ULs and we both needed every warm body to contribute in that type game.

slopy b-ball we did not play a good game our leading scorer
only had 15 points and theres nothing wrong with that but somebody eles has to make more than 3 baskets a game Lofton is good but he can't do it all by himself
