Disappointed with Kiffin’s decision.

Not implying Janzen is guilty, but having worked with troubled youth that age, I’ve seen poor kids locked away several years for less, non-violent crimes. JJ certainly should not be playing this year. He should be on some form of probation at least for the failed drug test, if not already, staying clean and out of trouble until next season, then be allowed to play again. He probably should be placed in some kind of drug rehab program as well. Not because his presence on the field may mean millions of dollars to the university in a better bowl appearance. It’s better to be safe and not be totally gullible in believing everything that happened that night was coincidental. Risky behavior deserves consequences.

People enough is enough. Let us just beat a dead horse to death. There are so many people on here that are so judgmental it is unreal. People, we do not know that he failed a drug test and so if he did. CLK knows all the facts and he made his decisions based on the facts. If he felt the kid did not deserve to play he would not be playing.

Judge not yet ye shall be judged. Those without sin cast the first stone. God will be the judge not you. I think the kid has suffered more than enough. I know what it is to be totally innocent when all around you think you are guilty. The truth finally came out and my innocence was proven just like JJ. It is important to show him the benefit of the doubt and give him all the support we can give him. This coach and his staff know what they are doing.

I for one am going to give this Coaching staff and this team 100% of my support and I hope all our fans will take my lead! GO VOLS!

He was suspended for 3 games for the drugs and being in the wrong place. I work with young adults as well, and it can do more damage to this generation to take what they love completely away from them. They have to understand there are consequences, but by taking away something they love it has the opposite effect from motivation. I am willing to see this one play out. In fact, I was proud that he was reinstated when the charges were dropped instead of the university going overboard when an 18 yr old was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

+1:good!:

Hate to waste my 100th post on something like this but the OP wants even the innocent prosecuted. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OP!!! Why continue to penalize a guy that was proven innocent? Oh i see....He might have drank some beer and smoked some weed so that deserved more than the 1 game suspension he got just for the failed drug test (If that was the reason)??? If it played out like you think it should then probably 99.9 percent of the athletes across the country will be in some sort of rehab program and the staff would have to play the games (If they could pass the drug screens)........thanks for more government spending:eek:k:
You need to put trust in CLK and the athletic department. I believe they know what they are doing and should be given the opportunity to run the program how they see fit until they do something that truly hurts the University or Football Program!!!

I hope this rant is accepted for my 100th post:)

GO VOLS, JJ, and I can't leave out EB:salute:

I was thrilled JJ was cleared of criminal charges. However, I wish CLK had benched him for the rest of the year. He was a week away from a suspension for something, and he was at least hanging out with bad characters and put himself in a compromsing situation. Sitting him might get his attention. I fear that with him getting away with this, we might be just setting up for something worse down the road.

What is it he "got away with?" Hanging out with idiots is not grounds for dismissal. He had already served a 2-game suspension for this, so why should he be punished further since the charges were dropped? At this point, he would have been punished for absolutely no reason.

Thanks for the references of GOD'S WORD. I think to often we forget that we are not the ones that needs to be judging anyone. I know you said the truth comes out but sometimes it doesn't here on earth but will in heaven. All people need GOD'S FORGIVENESS and most will need a second chance here on earth.

May GOD brighten everyones day and continue to lead us in the right direction. GOD SPEED

I'm not saying I'm dissapointed! But I love watching people pass judgement on JJ like they know all the facts and were there. I wasn't there either. And to people stating failed drug test. If that was case he served his penalty for 1st offense by sitting the Memphis game. But to the people thinking Kiffin had bad judgment what do you all say about them releasing J.J. On his own recognisence and the D.A. Dropping charges on him? Are they also making bad judgements? Honestly from the way the facts seem to be coming out I don't think the kids life should be ruined by kicking him off the team! Because he sat out Ole Miss and Vandy games. 2 games and no charges wer filed against him. Personally I think that is enough punishment! It's not like he started playing the following weekend and people stating him playing is going to keep us out of a better bowl are crazy. I think if he had been quity of any crime then I think he deserved to get kicked off the team but he didn't so let the kid play! People get off J.J.'s back and Kiffin's back! I think Kiffin did everything right. He suspended J.J. From team activities & games until charges were dropped! I honestly don't see how he could have did anything else better or worse. If they would have suspended him for the whole season I think that would have been over kill on punishment. I would probably tell him he's on his last chance and if he wants to stay a Volunteer then he needs to get his head on straight and think about his actions on what he does and who he hangs out with. Me personally I'm welcoming J.J. Back to Volnation with open arms. Hope he learned a lesson on what he could lose if he don't get head on straight. But it's time to start giving the kid suport and quit trying to dog him. Sorry for the long winded rant but this is starting to urche me. I think his punishment was fair and now it's time for him to prove he is ready to be a Volunteer once again!

Bless your puny little judgemental heart.

With statements like this should we go ahead and call in the family and get the Padre to administer last rites?

The authorities did not clear him. They dropped the charges because there wasn't enough proof. Big difference. I hope he realizes the magnitude of what situation and grows from it. I hope these incidents aren't a sign of more to come.

So is he considered now as an "Almost Offender?"

The concept of "the authorities did not clear him" is so far removed from our justice system and what innocent until proven guilty is all about IMO. The writer holding onto the concept of "guilty even if not convicted" needs to attend his medieval mentality back in the 10 century along with his fellow oafs.

We are betting the house AND farm he will be a repeat offender. Oops, he has been in trouble twice already so that should be a repeat, repeat, repeat offender.

We do not recruit choir boys to play football on the hill. Do you think the legends of the past that played on the hill were saints? The only difference between now and then is technology. Between the internet, media and cell phones with video and picture capabilities, star players at all schools are closely watched.

Talk to any players from the past, there was rowdiness, beer drinking and alot of the same conduct that goes on today. The big difference being their lives were not subjected to the microscope of technology that the players are today.

Richardson and Edwards did a stupid prank and will now pay the price. Why is everyone on JJ, the girl arrested represents the school as well, but no one is bashing her. If JJ gets into trouble again, he will be the one who pays for it, not the fans.

Okay Mr. Judge, Jury and Executioner, what was his first offense?

Do you think the Knoxville PD booked him on charges of being suspended for a football game?
