Disappointed in some fans

then you havent been to many football games.

And you sure as heck havent been to any soccer games.

what makes you just not understand human nature?

I'm not defending it animal. I am saying you have to expect it and if it does happen don't come on here and cry about it.

If you aren't talking about cleaning it up - that poor behavior is to be expected and tolerated, then you are defending it.

you're right, of course.

Guy gets put in a coma because of the baseball hat he's wearing....another killed cause he wore the wrong t-shirt. Some of the crap that goes on in European / S. American soccer is insane....that is not passion.

I'm all for some good natured ribbin' and smack talk...to a point. I can do it with friends who root for other teams....and do quite frequently; however, we don't take it to an unhealthy or disrespectful level.

I'm not a polyanna and definitely understand human nature. Sometimes it sickens me how we're evolving....just got to read the paper or watch the news to validate some of the wicked crap that goes on.

There is a line that shouldn't be crossed....if you can't handle your liquer or are so passionate it drives you to become an animal...well....then maybe it's time for help.

Hey Florida fan...this is what we like to call PERSPECTIVE.

and to those Vol fans who are jumping on me for telling said fan "what did you expect champagne wishes and caviar dreams while you sat in Neyland?"...

Get off your high horse before it bucks you and you are eating a dirt sandwich.

You had UF fans tailgating and chucking water bottles at UT fans from some of the parking garages close to and on campus. Forgive me for feeling no sympathy for UF fans having water bottles chucked right back at them.

If it was your wife or child being subject to that kind of thing one of two scenarios would be correct;

1. You'd be as upset about it as I am

or

2. You're just another d-bag like the ones acting like fools and you'd join right in.

I don't expect anybody to be treated with disrespect. Apparently you don't have a problem with it. Thank you for your advice, but I won't just stand by and accept abuse just because of a game.

nah lets please put on our cardigans and support a guy who is whining about his experience by sitting in the wrong section at a heated rivals stadium. Group hug everybody! Who has the tissues? Can we just have a good cry and maybe we will feel better.

How old are you?

We parked at the Civic with intention on riding the KAT bus. Met some really great Vols fans and tailgated with them until time to head to Neyland. We all had a great time talking crap to each other, but it was all in fun.

Different story when we got to the stadium. I expected to hear a lot of stuff directed at the Gators but it went above and beyond that. I can't blame "youth and alcohol" for the way these people acted. Most of them were gray haired gentleman who should have more class.

We sat in section F, row 55. It was just my wife and I. Of course we cheered and clapped for the few good things that Florida pulled off - but we were respectful.

We had water thrown at us, people getting in my face and telling me I wasn't welcome there and telling me to GTFO. I just ignored them for the most part.

I know that every fan wants their team to win, but lets have some common decency. It's to that end that I promise that I will go out of my way to talk to Vols fans in the Swamp when I meet them and try to make them feel welcome. It's just a game.

I know that every fan base has their bad seeds - but these older gentleman were just beyond disrespectful.

Congratulations to the Vols, though. This wasn't a game won by a bad call or "cheating." They came out after halftime looking like a team I had never watched before. Enjoy your victory - hope to see you in the Swamp next year!

Sorry you had that type of experience. I gauge every visitor by how my wife and I were treated in Norman. Sooner fans embraced us and thanked us for coming. Sooner fans (for the most part) echoed that at Neyland last year. Must have been the 11 years of losses and bad blood..but no excuse. If you talk to your fellow Gators, try to get the classy groundswell of friendly banter back into this rivalry...otherwise it's just mutual trash.

Can't agree with you on this. Every true Vol fan needs to call out our idiots. Otherwise it's just basic Crips and Bloods insanity, and destroys the essential spirit of what we love about this sport.
