Disagree with how Kiffin is handling things but love that the Gators are squirming.

Urban Meyer has pulled a load of crap while at Florida and apparently that's all ok.

How quickly some seem to forget about how he got the girlfriend of a recruit a scholarship for gymnastics at Florida. That...is something you can't do.

He told Omar Hunter (Florida DT) that the coach that brought him in was staying and guess what? The coach bolted the day after he signed. Hunter would have gone to Georgia had he known that.

He has done plenty more than that as well.

UF fans are still furious that Lane K, in his first year, took two of their top recruits.

then you don't have to worry about anything. It is perfectly understandable that LK is excited and trying to pump up the fan base like most coaches do but be sure you are absolutely correct! Of course, if every coach had their 'fan base talk' distributed, it might be embarassing for many of them. The so called 'journalists' in AL (Kennedy and the slime) have the bammers all lathered up over this like they are insulted that LK made a disparaging remark about UM...they don't care about UM, in fact, they are loving it...the burr in their butt is that LK got one of their coaches and they are furious about that. If Sabear had said something like that, they would have loved it...he has been know to stick his foot in his mouth on several occassions like the '******* joke, etc. but the bammers loved it. LK better have his act together on the field and be able to back up his talk. Fulmer was trashed because he never created controversy so now we have a coach who is brash and confident which is fine....he just needs to choose his words wisely and he will learn, one way or the other.

Why is the responsibility of our coaches to montior the recruiting activity within the SEC.....first HCF and now HCK.

This is a mess that has little upside for the Vols long term. I don't think recruits look at this as a meaningful accomplishment and it is certainly not a drawing card to sign with TN. I agree that Kiifin's words have hit a homerun for a certain portion of the fan base and it appears he has created a stir on the blogs and forums....not sure he will come out as the winner when the dust setttles.

I would have perferred to see Kiffin stick it to Meyer in a manner that CUM could not easily see it coming....with a zing rather than a slap on the head. If he is going to live and die my his mouth, then he should spend a little time with Spurrier, as Steve knew how to flame old Phil and the Vols without being over the top.

I predict we will soon see a new public version of Kiffin emerge....Hamilton will correct this behavior sooner rather than later.

Good grief. I walk into a Gainesville WalMart wearing Vol orange, the first employee to see me starts talking smack. He said the queen was knocked off her throne today. Then, he said that Lane Kiffin put us in the doghouse.

At this point, if we just avoid a bad blowout next year, the Gators will really be squirming.

Of course he is. He will do whatever it takes to win. Although what he did this time wasn't actually an NCAA violation, he still broke what I would call a gentleman's agreement. It is an ethics thing. He had no business calling Richardson over and over again while he was on his one official visit to UT. He had already had him for an official visit to UF. I personally think it should be a violation. He might not have officially cheated this time, but he showed what kind of snake he is. I am glad Kiffin unloaded on him.

They are furious because he did it in two months. :)

If you think that UF fans are actually scared of Lane Kiffin coming into the swamp and beating the gators you are absolutely crazy. UF will be lickin their chops for that game, and it will be ugly

scared does not equal furious, the same way gamecocks does not equal beast

One thing that really bothers me and was just brought up, and is a testament to where Fulmer has left us:

Saying things like, "stanford/usc" or "florida/alabama/georgia will hang 100 on us" [a la jay mariotti]...people we are not ever supposed to be huge shocking underdogs to the likes of these teams. There should always be a time when Tennessee goes anywhere in the country and people think, "damn could go either way." win or lose, I miss the times when people thought we had a better than good chance.

In all fairness, Jay Mariotti is an idiot.

This quote from one of the stories on the front page sums it up for me

"But methinks Foley doth protest too much. Funny, he never cleared his throat in the '90s when then-Gators Coach Steve Spurrier was dominating the conference and mouthing off about everything and everybody. Spurrier's memorable reference to rival Florida State, where he said FSU stood for Free Shoes University, did not merit a reprimand from his alleged boss.":ermm:

If you are gonna give it as the gaturds have for years then learn to take it like men not little girls.

Just tell them to cry about it some more like CUM and Tebow do after each loss. It's funny that Gator fans are forgetting in all of this that it was Richardson and his family who brought most of this about. They were the one's who were turned off by Urban's negative recruiting tactics and pressure and felt the need to go to another location to fax the LOI. Kiffin was just rubbing CUM's nose in it.
