Hoping someone can help me here. I have Comcast and am looking at changing to Direct TV. Has anyone ever had a problem with getting any of the stations that the Vols and SEC football are on? Any draw backs? I pretty much get every channel on Comcast but am sick of the price increases and customer service. Thanks for the help.

No, you get all the channels on DirecTV too. Sometimes it goes out during bad weather but that is usually just the HD signal and standard def is usually still working from my experience.

Thanks. Comcast always goes out here in bad weather also.

Directv is the best. Ive had it for 11 years with zero issues. I live 9 hours from knoxville and with the college game plan (hoops and fball) I get every UT game. Plus the NFL ticket is amazing!

You won't get CSS on DirecTV, so you'll miss a few men's and women's basketball games (but usually non-conference games).

CSS, which carries some SEC football and men's and women's basketball games, is not on Direct TV. The Vanderbilt football game was on CSS last year, and they carry up to 8 SEC football games a year.

Dish Network has the best DVR, but they are liars and thieves just like all media companies.

Put some electrical tape around the coaxial connections between your dish and your transfer box and you won't have any outages unless a typhoon hits your house.

Direct is way better than cable. In my experience, a storm has to be so bad that nothing would be on but the weather man anyway. I can live with that if I don't have to deal with a cable company.

Dealing with Charter, Comcast, or most any other cable company is the same as "dealing" with DirecTv, Dish, or any other dish company. Im glad you have had such great experience with Direct than I had. I have had DTV, Dish, and Charter and would never go back to satellite.

The prices are very similar arent they? Also what do you guys do about internet? Please dont say DSL because thats not an option.

I kept Comcast for internet. With TV and Internet combined I get more channels and pay $25 less per month with DTV.

Ive had Dish and DTV and it wasnt 25 less a month.....unless of course you are talking about their 6 month intro deals or what have you.

I haven't had to call customer service with direct once, it seemed like a monthly occurance with charter.

You can talk to them and get that discounted rate for upwards to three years at a time. Just keep getting transferred to a supervisor and mention your switching to Charter.

Seems like we have had this thread discussion many times. You like satellite....good for you, but 25 a month less than charter for more services is simply not true.

I have been wondering the same thing. I moved to the northwest after graduating and am trying to decide whether to get dishnetwork, directtv, or comcast. How much is the additional college football package typically on directtv?
