Yeah but now all those posters who think losing to a bad team just once disqualifies you from ever coaching at UT will have to cross out Dabo Sweeney now. Because my goodness, he lost to Syracuse so he must be garbage and not up to our big orange standards.

He was on Art Briles staff at Baylor.

Left Baylor after 2011 season before all of the allegations started surfacing.

He is a great coach of my 2nd favorite CFB team Syracuse...Syracuse is all about basketball and has accepted being mediocre in football since Pasquoloni got fired. Not a good coach for my VOLS, yes Cuse beat Clemson but will probably finish 6-6 or 7-5 at best and lost to Middle Tennessee State earlier this year. And everyone up here in upstate ny will be thrilled. With that being said if he ever gets fired and cant find a HC job UT needs to throw $ at him as a WR coach bc that man finds some studs at the WR position.

Overall records can be deceiving. If a coach takes over a massive dumpster fire with little talent to compete, it can take a year or two before you see an overhaul.

And with the exception of Bama, the SEC isn’t much stronger than anyone else this year (or last). Very avg against OOC competition, and pretty much on the same level as the other power 5 conferences.

Per Tennessee rules of hiring..... Butch beat GT by a miracle this year.

So Paul Johnson is the coach we will hire.

If the next coach has to be googled we might as well pack it up and forget about UT being a football school anymore

We can’t take any more trials of mediocre up and comers
