Difficult to fire Fulmer

First of all, most of the guys that have verbally committed to us already will end up signing to go elsewhere on National Signing Day. There is no way that we'll end up with a top 5 class. Secondly, Fulmer and company have already proved numerous times that they are sufficiently inept at their jobs to prevent even the best of recruiting classes from panning out on the field and producing the results that we would expect.

I agree with you 100%

"Difficult to Fire Fulmer".......not at all, you just have to have enough GUTS to do it. (and do not come at me with the buyout issue)
Think how much better we will be with a better coach and all that talent CPF brings in.

I agree with you, but I don't think Fulmer will get the ax.....if not Fulmer, then who will get it??

Didn't you say a top 5 class was possible?

yes a top recruting class is possible......... I agree with this part..........

Watch and learn. Top 5 class? That's laughable.

I don't believe we'll sign a top 5 class. I've actually said that numerous times in this thread. However, we won't lose "most" of our commits by signing day. We've already added two this week.

who cares what u think........all you can do is obsess about having a lower ranked recruting class........what's the difference top 5, top 10, the exact numbers don't matter........

that was never the question.........do u have a learning disability???
the question is who will get the AX when the season is over, given a poor record, with Fulmer's BIG contract, and a top recruiting class on the way...........

Right...and ZERO of our "commitments" have signed on the freaking dotted line. Right now is the high point of UT's football season. It's only going to get worse from here. Most of these commitments will end up signing elsewhere.

Yes, Fulmer recruited well in the past, back when Tennessee football was a threat to beat anyone at any level. But just because he's Phil doesn't mean recruits are going to ignore an obvious program in disarray.
If you're a recruit and Florida, Alabama and LSU are wanting you, why in blue blazes would you consider signing with Tennessee in it's current state of funk.
Recruits can read the paper, some at least, and see that Fulmer is at the end of the plank.

The fans become complacent with this season. So lets stay pissed at Fulmer and be pissed about our lackluster season. Show your frustration. :)
Tennessee is nothing w/o its fans. We call the shots.:)

I was really trying to ask you guys a question, and make a point.......the specifics aren't that important in a way........if Fulmer gets a top class, then I think he'll be able to pass the buck..........I mean, does anyone really think that Clawson is a great coordinator???
That's an easy out, and Fulmer gets to keep getting the mega-bucks...........:swoon3:

I understand where you are going and you certainly could be right; however, the powers to be aren't totally stupid. Fulmer has not produced with talent since the 2001 season. I'm using the potential NC implications if he had one the SECCG. Since that time, he has failed to place a team in the Top 10 and he has only beaten Florida once and, not counting Georgia, though only important ranked opponent that he has beat, I believe, is Miami. If you are correct and he lands another Top 5 recruiting class (I believe that he could), it would be paramount to taking your burning all of your money in the backyard. In other words, the talent would be wasted. That is what we can be confident about based on the results of the past ten years. Surely, someone with a vote sees that.

People don't pay money to see recruiting classes, they pay to see the final product. It's pretty apparent that more people are choosing to stay home than in years past and the fan base as a whole is unhappy. I don't care if Fulmer's recruiting class is ranked number one. If the people aren't attending games and spending money on concessions, souvenirs, etc., then the university isn't bringing in as much money and that will make the decision as to whether or not Fulmer stays.
