Different Way of Watching the Games (long)

What if you record the Alabama game and ESPN messes up the score. Tennessee 28 Alabama 21.

Then when you go to watch it and realize we lost. Would the heart ache be even worse?

I DVR most games and start watching about 45 min. to an hour after kickoff. But that does not reduce stress, it only allows me to skip the commercials.

DVr or not after the Florida loss I told myself I wouldn't watch another Tennessee game this year.... That was until 7 days later when I watched the mocs game... It's just too hard not to watch live!!! #anythingcanhappensaturday

I prefer to let the game record for about an hour before I start watching. I much prefer not having to watch all the commercials and half time show.

This takes some of the stress away and lets me get a little more done around the house on a Saturday.

I think the issue (for me a least) I was going (season Ticket holder) to the games with Orange glasses on thinking we are the teams of the past, but this year I refuse to think we are going to dominate teams (yet). When there is a speculation that if we play a great game we could steal the game, but in reality its difficult to steal games in todays world of College Football. The film study and preparation that goes into the games now days is a lot different than in the past, as the mid term has arrived you can see other teams that was great early being exposed by film study. Even Oregon who is almost in the same (O-Line) boat as us had their better lineman go down for 2 games, even with a Heisman contender at the helm they lost. So to my point its been an easier year to attend the games while recording them at home for reply as I have time leaving the orange color glasses at home. But you can see the speed and the players playing hard and that is something that makes me proud to this point, recruiting will fill the gaps as our players age and become better. CBJ does have our best interest in mind, we just need to back him for the long hall.

It works well when your team sucks. When it's good or has a chance then you completely miss the experience of clinching a win/loss

It would lose a lot of the drama of the game for me.

But, I rewatched the 1998 opening game and it still gets my heart racing a bit.

I got too mad over the FL game. I said screw this. I've laid on the couch for FOUR hours on a Saturday. My wife and kid was going nuts wanting to go do something. We lost. I moped around the house. I said never again. I'm done wasting my Saturdays getting mad and being in a bad mood over a football game. Now I listen to the game when we're traveling somewhere but I'm done devoting my Saturdays to football and sitting on the couch while ignoring my family.

I can watch a win again, but who wants to watch a loss? Talk about a waste of 2 hrs. Either way, I'm in the "ruins it for me" crowd.

If it keeps you from having a stroke then go for it! But I'd rather figure out a way to not get so emotionally invested. It's just a game that you have no control over, RELAX!

TL, DR.

Just kidding. I used to do that as well, just to see if it was even worth watching the game. A lot of days I saw the score and that it was just not worth my time and enjoyed the Saturday. It is truly sad that it has come to this, but a decade of losing calls for desperate measures.
