Florida could only run the ball, with their 3 starting receivers out, they were not a threat to pass much. Our defense will be fully tested next week
It was two starting receivers. Vernell Brown, who is their leading receiver for the season, returned against us but was held to 3 catches for 14 yards. Neither Eugene Wilson and Dallas Wilson have played since their game against Georgia and have been in and out of their lineup throughout the season. None of the three played against Ole Miss and Lagway threw for 218 yards.

The initial post was a swipe at Boo like it changed everything about the defense by not having him in the locker room. Florida offense sucks. It's just a fact yet our tackling did get worse in the 2nd half.

How about not continuing to try to take cheap shots at all ex players like were small minded?
The one drive in the second half where they kicked the field goal, there were a lot of backups on the field. After Lagway ripped off his long run CJH put in starters, including Hobbs. They put a stop to the bleeding and held them to a field goal. Most of UF's yardage came on the 2 drives in the second half when they were putting backups on the field.

He’s a good RB, but yes, the missed tackles were chronic…as is our poor tackling technique.
I know they do a lot of thudding in practice to avoid injury. I wonder if that makes it hard to change gears for games or hard to practice technique. I really have no idea, just curious.

That was really the only negative I saw in the game. The tackling is still poor. They had better bring the gang tackling and a spy on Saturday on Pavia as Vandy relies on his running so much. If TN can’t get him in the ground quickly, he’ll run that defense ragged.
Someone else mentioned it earlier, might have been this thread, but said to put Perlotte on Pavia as a spy to keep his running limited. Perlotte is fast and hits hard. Get a good hit on Pavia early a couple of times and maybe he gets hesitant to run and just starts throwing the ball away. Mission accomplished.

Agreed. That’s the guy I’d put on him a bunch. Arion being injured might not be able to stay on him the whole game. Perlotte has really impressed me this year. But I don’t think he’s starting right now though is he?

I did enjoy Arion’s hit on Lagway in the hole Saturday night. He blasted him.

He’s not a starter, but is playing a lot.

Agreed with you.

Our fans don't let us use injuries as an excuse to lose but they'll use them for other teams losing to us. Then they wonder why they get told to go root for that team. Lol. Stupid.

If thats not what you meant then I miss read it. Still agree either way.

Obviously I am just speculating, but I doubt Boo’s opinion carried much weight in the locker room. I expect most just wanted him to grow up, get with the program, and contribute. This game should just be taken at face value - we won, UF lost, streak is over!
Yeah, but if you (the op) can take a free shot at a kid who's not longer on the team, then you simply gotta take that chance. You may never get another chance at any fame or glory again...

LOL…I composed a nasty response thinking I was the poster you were criticizing, luckily I read your post again and caught the significance of (op).

I really don’t think a sophomore who the team was trying to give a second chance could really turn the locker room. I think our defense looked better because they could be aggressive because UF is really bad and got behind early.
