I was at the game last night. I took my 13 year old twin granddaughters. I had told them all the history of the Vols football program. I made sure to take them to the Strip, Vol Village and Vol Walk. They loved it all. This was their first college football game. They thought the checkerboard end zones were"cool" and when the full team came out dressed and were standing in the end zone one of them spotted London dancing in the end zone. They loved the uniforms. They loved the band and all their formations. They sang Rocky Top as loud as they could every chance they got. As for the game, they loved JG...they thought he was tough. They thought Florida played dirty and got away with it. They were disappointed at the loss, but they are now Vols for Life. One of them said "they will be good again, they are the Vols." She also said UT is now on her list of colleges to go to. And they asked when we can go again.

So, they saw a horrible game but they loved the Vols and the whole Vol experience. It certainly helped me to deal the debacle. seeing it all through their eyes.

The very first Florida game I ever watched was when Spurrier came to Knoxville the first time and we lost 45-3. I know how they feel.

Did they enjoy the “F*** you Florida” chants by our student section when we were down by 30? The whole night was an embarrassment to the state. I don’t even remember Rocky Top playing except for pregame.

We didn't hear that. And if you didn't hear Rocky Top I don't know where you were.

Great post, Volgirl1126. I was thinking back today and remembered the game against Florida where it came a monsoon and Casey Clausen fumbled multiple times. Losing is part of following a team. I don't like losing to any team, but losing to Bama and Florida stings a little more than the others. In the end, it is still just a game and UT will be great again. Maybe not as soon as we'd all like, but you can't keep a great program down. GO VOLS!
