Saban has an inate ability to inspire.

Everybody in the SEC has talent.

He has gotten to that rare air in coaching where he can just look at at kid harshly and it makes him try harder.

A kid has to believe that aside from any physical ability....that his coach has something "extra" that gets him over the hump.

To me......"believing" is absolutely the most fundamental and number 1 trait that players must have before they can be champions.

Our team just doesn't have anything remotely close to it right now and there has to be some catalyst that creates it.

Getting a new coach doesn't always do it. It has to be the right coach. It has to be that one coach that stands out.

Not sure if he's out there and available right now. It's a huge decision.

Talking to a friend of mine from bamma about a month ago, he said that he was cautiously optimistic because even other coaches in the SEC were talking about the change in the Bamma players mental toughness....that Saban did away with the finesse game......seems to be working at 9-0.

Saban = "I WANT TO KILL EVERYONE!"

Fulmer = "I WANT TO RUN TO SETUP THE PUNT!"

I remember the announcers touched briefly on the topic of the recent coaching changes in the SEC with Saban, Myer, Niles and said their impact has been seen right away and some are saying it's time for the Tennesse program to follow.

Face it, we're simply being outcoached and outclassed in every aspect. It's like watching DivI against a DivII team

At least you guys/gals can get plastered(which I highly recommend) and go to bed to wake up to a new day. It's not even noon here...the whole day is still ahead of me....

While I do agree with you about Saban, it is very obvious to me that not only is Fulmer lacking in the motivation department but he and his coaches also lack some of the basic coaching fundamentals that high school coaches should have. When a defensive coordinator refuses to let the most athletic defensive secondary in the country use their talents to stop the opposition by playing aggressive schemes and techniques after they are completely getting picked on, it is time to get a new coordinator. The announcers on tv and the radio are even pointing out that when you give a receiver 10-15 yards of cushion every play, the opponent will pick you apart until you choose to tighten things up. Also, how on earth can the opponents receivers get wide open every time they go across the middle. On television, they showed a replay of one of the over the middle passes for Bama and analyzed the defensive scheme that we ran against their formation. They pointed out that until the safety for UT quits lining up 20 plus yards off the ball before it is even snapped, we wouldn't have time to even come up and break up the pass. It's funny how the opposing team's receivers always seem to have no defenders within 5 yards of them when they catch the ball and our receivers are either covered up or making a catch with a defender draped across their back. I refuse to believe that everyone we play has that much more talent than we do. I could go on and on about the changes that aren't being made by the coaching staff but I will save you all some time because you should already know this anyway. My point is that Tennessee not only has a coaching staff that lacks the ability to motivate like Saban but we lack a coaching staff that can even do things that should be expected of an average highcschool coaching staff. I don't think we could make a bad hire at this point. Any breathing individual would be an upgrade for us right now.

I expect a resignation on Monday morning from Fulmer but I should realize that if he hasn't already done this by now, he isn't going to any time soon. How Mike Hamilton has not fired him already is beyond me. How Mike Hamilton will avoid getting rid of Fulmer after this year is also beyond me too but I'm certain he will find a way to do it. When an offense can continually get negative yards on a drive to take them out of scoring position after the defense and special teams have gifted them the ball in good position, it's time to look for new leadership. If you aren't ready for a change at the top, do us a favor and root for some other team and please go with Fulmer to whatever idiotic school hires him when he finally does leave our great program.

Saban doesn't care about being anyones friend, and he is a disciplinarian, you screw off you don't play on his team...that makes believers out of them, and it puts the rules out front so they know where they stand. Discipline wins football games and that is the missing element at UT....Cut said so, as that is what left both times that he did!

This was my point. We can rush out and hire all kinds of coaches that can supposedly come on over and turn it around but look at Michigan. Look at Tyrone Willingham and how many programs have failed under his care and yet he seems like one of the most wonderfully decent coaches out there.

So just hiring a new coach isn't the catch all. I don't want to be like Alabama and go through 5 differing coaches in 10 years until we get the right one. One thing differing about Alabama, however, is that they did have sanctions which hindered their progress a great deal. Saban was fortunate and smart and came in after all of that was done.

Busy person and don't get to hang out on discussion boards too often but when it gets this bad I've got to throw in my two cents.
