I raced sailboats for Tennessee from 1996-2000. Technically we were a club sport, and the best we did nationally was an "also receiving votes" in Sailing World's College Sailing Top 20.

Played 4 years of College Golf at Shorter College (Now Shorter University) All Conference my freshman year, and made it to nationals my junior year. 04-08

I was recruited for football and baseball. Was down to Iowa St. for baseball and ETSU for football. I wanted to do both and my grades sucked so I went small school. Found my way to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater after a couple years at Elmhurst College. Decided to give up football and got diagnosed with Chrohn's disease after enrolling at UWW. Tried to give it a go, but Chrohn's ended my playing days. Two stomach surguries and 15 years later, I'm still showing no effects of the disease.

Knowing what I know about recruiting now, how freaking weird was my process??? Iowa St. offered for baseball, and would not give me a sniff for football. ETSU offered a partial for football, and told me to walk-on for baseball. WTF??? I was much better in baseball. Wanted to be at ETSU, but only with a baseball scholly.:loco:

Played Rugby for Lyndon State College 1988 and 1989. It was a club sport but very competitive. We were a small school and got smoked in most of our matches but the parties afterward were legendary and well worth the ass-kicking we received earlier those Saturday afternoons.

Played college football Hastings College Nebraska N.A.I.A. school. Linebacker like there is any other position on the field lol. Go Vols P.S. sent Fulmer about 20 tapes no responce oh well would have loved to play even if it was just special teams.

My buddy was standing in the Baskin Robbins on The Strip in KTown in about 1998, when some butt naked UT rugby player came running in and demanded an ice cream cone. Apparently, the guy behind the counter asked what flavor, and the rugby player shouted in a near panic, "do I look like I *****ing care?!?!" So, yeah, I assume your parties were pretty awesome. :)

JUCO Basketball, walked on for about 1/2 season at small D1 school in NE TN back in the day. Too old to remember what day now!

UT Football, mid to late 80's.

Had some small school interest, but walked on in the middle of my freshman year....just in time for winter work-outs and Spring practice. Ended up with a small scholarship and played enough to actually earn my letter by on-field play.

Aquanis Jr. College in Nashville on Basketball Scholarship. Quit after 2 months with intentions of going elsewhere........never did go back.

Always wanted to play college ball but turned everything down for a military career. Too much family tradition to turn down. That and I think i was too small for d1 football. I graduated at 5 10 200lbs. Oh uncle sam still takes care of me and paid for everything up to a masters. Wouldn't mind coaching but lack of college ball experience pushes me out of that. Id like to think id be ok at coaching considering I have an intel analyst background and am good with developing different courses of action. Maybe in another life. Until then I will still be a diehard fan.
