Will we be playing this year's George Mason tomorrow? Were the Hoyas that much worse than advertised, or is Ohio much better than? Are we better off playing the Bobcats?

I would have to say we most definately are better off playing the Bobcats. What are the chances they shoot 59% from the field and 56% from behind the arc again? Plus usually these "cinderellas" don't win a 2nd game.

With that said if we pull our famous disappearing act we've had the tendency to pull all year they could beat us.

Just look at Ohio's record and schedule.

Of course it's a GIFT playing them!!! They're a hot team right now, but they were dreadful for 90% of the season.

Ohio was unreal from 3, and Georgetown's defense wasn't good at all. We should beat them (no guarantee though).

An Ohio player interviewed on ESPN admitted that Georgetown was the better team, offering the "any given night" explanation. Vols swagger and defense make the difference. Vols 65, Ohio 59

Tennessee should win the next game by 10+, which will set up nicely for a showdown with OSU in the Sweet 16. I don't like that matchup at all, but you know CBP will want some tourney revenge on Thad Matta

Obviously Ohio's got something going for them if they beat G'town. It's too easy to overlook them based on their record.

maybe that's because their record is who they really are. They got hot and Gtown forgot to show up but they won't sneak up on anyone again

After yesterday, there is no guarantee that Ohio St. advances to the Sweet 16.

For some reason I'm more worried about our 5 than their's.

True...This season it's not if the other team shows up, it's if our guys do. And that's not a given on any night.

But hopefully CBP's got 'em fired up and ready for the bob-tails tomorrow. Maybe Chism is really rockin' the headband and the Verne Lundqvist show has moved to a new arena...I just don't think I can listen to him maul another game of ours (FB or BB) Go VOLS!

Good point. I'm honestly just thinking about Saturday's game anyway. A 3rd Sweet 16 appearance in 4 years is not so bad. When and if we beat Ohio, I can start really focusing on whether we can break through the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.

The more I read about Ohio the better I like our chances. I don't think they will shoot as well as they did against Gt, and our length should give them trouble. It really should be a comfortable win.

The table is set for the Vols to advance to the sweet 16, we were all wishing for an Ohio upset, without thinking it could really happen. But I am reminded of a decade ago when the Vols played Southwest Missouri St, after SMS upset someone in the first round, I think we were a 4 and they were a 12, and they smashed us by 30, that's not going to happen, but sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for, and UT has to be ready for this game or else

If you take a look at Ohio's losses, they are all very close.. And their wins seem to be all blowouts.

Georgetown even more so than us has two completely different teams. They have a really good team like the one that beat syracuse in the Big East tournament and then they have the team that showed up last night

We did draw Cinderella. I'll be they would love to beat us and then have a showdown with the Buckeyes. If we show up, we win. Never know with our guys. Come on Scotty, have your break out game Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get your chin off the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be sweet if we went deeper than KY? Won't happen, but one can dream.

At this point, I'm VERY reluctant to predict what will or won't happen from here on out. Only a few seasons ago, none of the no. 1's made it to the final four (is my memory correct?) This is shaping up to be an anything goes tourney. If we can find that level of play we have
shown a handful of times this season and STAY on that level for a while (tall order), the sky's the limit, imo.

Ohio is a solid team but if there was a year that we could make it to the Elite 8, as crazy as this year has been if OSU gets beat in 2nd round its our's for the taking JMO
