Okay, Bama is the 800 pound gorilla (or elephant) in the conference. Got that. And UGa might not be far behind. Call them the 600-pound bulldog in the background.

But the dominance of those two might be masking a resurgence of the East.

Get this: pull Bama and UGa out of the mix, and the East is 6-2 against the West so far this year, with just two games remaining (Mizzou-Arky, and Vandy-Ole Miss). The worst the East will be is 6-4, and there's a real good chance it'll be 8-2.

Our division hasn't posted 8 wins against the Westerners since 2008.

Real good chance the Vols' return to relevance (fingers crossed in the next 2 years) will coincide with the rebirth of the East. That would be entirely appropriate, since our downturns came at roughly the same time. Not coincidental, I don't think.

Go Vols!

Well we couldn’t win the EAST when it was the worst it has been in 30 years. Maybe we will win it now that it is becoming dominant again. It’s the Tennessee Way.

Good info JP, I didn't even notice or realize the wins this year. If it means we are on the way back I'm all for the East dominating again.
