Did the team give up against Florida?

Nah, they were just confused. Hadn't ever seen any football players running around that fast with those confusing plays.

Being stuck on the field for 14 1/2 minutes in the 3rd quarter made an already marginal defense look silly. I don't think they gave up. I think they were just physically and mentally wasted by the start of the 4th quarter.

...and there you have it...my point all week.

Spent the ENTIRE 3rd Quarter out there in 90+ degree heat. They didn't stand a chance in the 4th.

From the same article

Booming Briscoe: Coming off his team high eight reception for 86 yards against Florida last week, junior Josh Briscoe is certainly leaving his reputation for avoiding contact in the past.

"Really has improved," Fulmer said, "Trooper (Taylor) has done a tremendous job with him."

I did notice that Briscoe wasn't shying away from contact compared to the first 2 games. He's no Meach, but he showed a little more than what he had prior.

One of the reasons they were on the field the entire quarter was that the only "play" they made was Berry catching a ball thrown into his arms because the receiver ran the wrong route. Maybe if they weren't giving up an average of 10 yards per play on 1st down they would have gotten some rest.

I agree, but the offense could have helped a little by staying on the field for longer than 4 plays over the course of 2 possessions in the 3rd quarter.

Don't disagree. However, stopping them three and out a couple of times would have gotten them a rest. To draw an NFL analogy, the Ravens have a wretched offense but you don't see Lewis, Reed, et al on the field 14 minutes in a quarter.

No doubt . . . A defense has to almost work at it to stay on the field that long.

I haven't seen that thing we did going into the fourth quarter where players hold up 4 fingers.

I guess, now a days, they are just to tired.

Only if they had the gusto of the Long fellow that's always jumping around waving a towel. Wait, isn't that the S&C Coach?

Yes they quit!!!!!!!! They were tired and beat down. Heck look how Florida improves their QB's with computers and lazers. Florida is on the cutting edge. Look at the video provided earlier, they were not rushing at all. Heck the Florida player were trash talking to them about the T on the helmet for Tebow.
