Did Quarte Sapp just quit mid-game? (Confirmed did not quit, asked to leave)

He's in a very difficult situation right now. He could be well lose this team, he has to maintain his authority but can't come down too hard. He's walking a thin line right now, he could lose this locker room and if he does it's over

Could lose the team or has lost the team?
If the coaches smell blood in the water if may permeate throughout the whole program

I disagree. If a guy refuses to play when called upon then he deserves to be called out publicly for it. Also if he intends to transfer then he really shot himself in the foot because there’s not going to be many teams accepting of someone that quits on their team in the middle of the game. Who wants that on their team? At least finish the game and have a conversation with your coach, man to man. Almost every coach has an open door policy and I’m sure Pruitt is the same. Maybe he should just focus on school because apparently he’s not cut out for football. I’m glad Pruitt said something.

Baylor would take him

That running back who refused to go in scrub time when Lane Kiffin asked was allowed to stay on the team. Had a pretty good season after Lane quit the team. Vol fans generally loved that scenario.

Exactly, if CJP had not said a thing, then rumors would be swirling that he has lost the team. The players hate him. He's just like Butch. On and on and on.

and any other player wearing the Orange and White that doesn't want play. Good Bye.
Parting gift from previous Coach below. A box that will take your far.
PLAYERS do NOT quit on a Program, Coach or Team. They work and work and leave it on the field, NO matter the result.
We do NOT have many of these players on this team. Sorry, but you cant blame that on a first year Coach.

I don't know the situation and think everyone should hold off on making comments on the young man until anything is confirmed by sources.

But, it is worth noting that this is the 4th game of season. I believe the new redshirt rule allows a player to play four games and still retain redshirt classification. Wouldn't be surprised if a few players, from all over the nation, make transfer decisions this upcoming week.
Jalen hurts at Bama is one of them. The whole deal is about to get out of hand nationwide. I don't know all the details but it's a serious matter when a college is giving you a full scholarship. It doesn't make any sense for a young man just to walk away from that opportunity. I don't know Sapp's situation but if he couldn't practice this past week CP seems to ease them back into playing time. Best they accept it and grow a sack because this goes back to J.Hurd and that type of behavior led to UT going downhill IMO.
Reality is the ball coach represents the university who has given you an opportunity and it's not wise to buck authority. A lot of these young men no longer see it as a privilege and they want their way as a 2-3 yr. old child would by throwing tantrums. Butch allowed the lack of discipline to occur on his watch and CP don't play that shat.....bye,bye crybabies!

Honest question what is the head coach at UT getting paid to do? I mean he certainly isn’t making them play with any passion or with any fundamentals, now it’s not even on him to keep them in line? Heck where do I sign up to collect that massive paycheck to do absolutely nothing?
You would not even know where to begin. But that is ok, sigh!

How do you control a kid that won't listen? Put him in timeout?
Personaly I'd like for every male in the US on his 18th birthday to be forced to do 6 months basic training in our military at camp Lejune or Pariss Island the way the real young men do. They'd learn some respect and discipline in the least and that would go a long way developing them for their future. I'm old school though but our coach is too. He's on the spot so to speak but I hope he doesn't bat an eye. UT doesn't need this drama...we need to move forward. If Quarte wants to stay on the team that's cool. But remember CP ask him to go in. I'd simply not ever ask him again. Your move Quarte.

Is Sapp being slandered by his head coach?

Something stinks here.

Pruitt has shown a lack of self control on the sideline. Sapp’s statement totally contradicts what Pruitt said in the post game.
