Did Pruitt and Phil get Fulmered?

After reading a lot of interesting information here today, I have found two particular posts that I think illustrate how a staffer lit the match to a fuse for Pruitt and Phil's outster. Now, I've always heard of this sort of thing being called "Fulmered" based on stories from Phil shoving the knife in the back of Johnny Majors. I must give credit where credit is due, I just want you to think of these articles together. First BoroVolFan posted the first link in "The NCAA Will Hammer Vols." Secondly, MikeInFla posted this link in "AD White: "It's a Shame the Hire Got Leaked"" Each are interesting. Then you look at a timeline and each seem to work together. By no way an I saying they should have stayed, they deserved to be canned.

Fulmer did not shove a knife in the back of Johnny Majors. Majors was fired by UT President Joe Johnson as Majors tried to ram a huge pay increase through when UT was short on money. Again that was not Fulmer...strictly between UT President Johnson and Majors.

Fulmer didn’t put the knife in Johnny’s back, Majors did it to himself, it has been well documented.

Phil's ultimate plan backfired. He intentionally hired a coach who would fail. He thought Pruitt would fail on the field and not off the field. He intentionally gave Pruitt a contract extension with a lucrative buyout. Follow me here (even though it may sound insane). In about year 4 Pruitt who be fired with the lofty buyout and Phil would step in as the head football coach at a discount rate that the chancellor couldn't refuse. But good 'ol JP had to conjure up some recruiting violations that gets him fired for just cause with no buyout. Damn.....Phil's plan thwarted.

Fulmer flew too close to the sun, too soon. When you have made your abode in the highest aeries, the fair-weather fan has no interest in working (like heck) to stay there. Not all have the constitution of the Righter of Wrongs. Such a tragedy

Fullip has been screwing the university and anyone in his way for years. Thanks for 98. Now hit the links and stay far away from the program. He ain't getting a statue.
