CLK promised Crompton that he wouldn't have to worry about being pulled---(after being named the starter).
Question---Did that promise keep Kiff from giving Nick a shot----especially following the 2nd half Int? At what point do you pull Cromp aside and say--"Johnathon, it just isn't your day, let's give Nick a series or two"? It seemed obvious to me that Kiffin had no confidence in the passing game in the fourth quarter, as the Vols went almost exclusively with the run. UCLA could see this also, and loaded up against the run. I don't think letting Crompton sit would have affected his psyche,---he was already a rag doll. So I say--put the loyalty aside and do what is best for the entire team. If Kiff can pull BB for running OUB, then why not pull the QB? Just my take. Once again, an extra 3 beers to get through a Tennessee game. :ermm:

I started drinking at 0800 hrs and damn proud of it! But, we'll get better. Our coaching staff is great.

IMHO, since Cromp is a complete headcase, once he is pulled he would be lost for the season. not saying that is a bad thing, but I think CLK wants to keep the same starter in for the same game. As far as next week goes, I would start Cromp, run some berry and nuke formations, and then the following week start Stephens. There is no reason to ruin him too by throwing him to the wolves in the swamp

He's a man of his word. I'll take that despite a loss. It means more in the long run to not go back on your word.

Agree on UF---if Cromp thinks UCLA has a D--OH MY.
That said, even if Stephens had come in --and done well, Crompton could still start @ Fla. UCLA was winnable, UF now looks like a beatdown---therefore paramount to win the winnables. I have seen enough of Crompton wilting under pressure.
