Quitter!!! I hope the mighty mocs enjoy being lead by this spoiled brat. Glad he moved on and glad the City of Chattanooga has their hero home.

I am currently sitting at the UTC game. UTC leads 21-0 and BJ has already thrown for 205 yds......

Oh yeah...what powerhouse did he do this against?

Kiffin didn't let Coleman get away...Coleman's ego let Coleman get away

I was at the game tonight and here is my honest opinion. BJ Coleman is exactly where he needs to be. He is NOT an SEC calibur quarterback. I counted at least 7 times where he over threw his receiver. 2 or 3 of them would have been TD's if thrown accurately. He also does not posess any type of mobility to elude 0-star defenders from Glenville State. How in the world could he evade players like Brandon Spikes? I'm not quite sure what Cutcliffe saw or thought he saw in BJ, but all I can say is 4 star my ass.

I believe that Coleman made the right decision for himself. He could've refrained from doing all the bad-mouthing about Kiffin at the time, but he's still a kid so he gets a pass for that. However I do applaud him for making the right choice. The thing is, he really could be a star at this level if UTC coach Russ Huesman surrounds him with the right players.

Oh and don't be fooled by any numbers BJ may have put up. They passed on almost every down. It really was reminiscent of Spurrier's "fun and gun" system.

I was at the game also, and this is exactly how I feel.

Kiffin didn't 'let' Coleman get away, Coleman got impatient and lost perspective and made demands that no good coach who needs to maintain discipline and control could meet. Too bad because Coleman probably had a very good chance of winning the job at UT at some point. Perhaps he's where he needs to be.

Wrong! Based on the performance I saw last night, he would not have won the job from Crompton and most likely would not have won the job from Nick Stephens or whichever hot shot prospect Kiffin brings in over the next couple of years. He's a likable kid and I'm glad he's playing for UTC but he is NOT an SEC calibur quarterback. At least not based on what I saw.

he's a quitter passing against a team a little better than a high school team. I want a qb that wants to win, not one that takes his ball and goes home because of some competition.

Look at both sides here. If you are a competitor, and feel you aren't getting a fair shot-- (I am not saying Coleman wasn't) but if YOU felt that was the case--- Would you be better off on the bench at UT--where you may NEVER play a down---or starting for another team, getting some live action, and honing your skills?

Always 2 sides to every story.

He left. He could not stand the competition which is going to be a halmark at UT now. If you are not an All - American like Berry, it looks like you will have to compete for your job every year. We complained for the last few years that this program had grown comfortable, stale, complacent and predictable. I don't think that is going to be the case from now on.

The thread was started by one of your fellow Chatta/Colemanites. What do you want us to do; block you guys from posting?

He posts and your fellow volomites post an additional
80+ posts on a player long gone from the program - like some itch you can't help but try to scratch. He's relatively talented 21 year old who'd rather play than sit on the bench.

I wouldn't think Kiffin would have run anybody off. But, if you can't be a team player, buy into the system, do what your told, understand the offense, get over your ego, then, you should be run out. Nobody is bigger than the program.

Agreed. So why do Colemanites feel the need to start Coleman/UTC threads on this board? No Coleman/UTC threads started, no Coleman discussion.

Good question. Ask ChattaVol21 and then everyone who will jump on any mention of Coleman and UTC to denigrate both as if by doing so will make UT's program better.

Look guys I didnt mean to stir up all the mess.. It was just a simple question to see how you guys felt because during the game I actually got in an argument with a guy who felt BJ should be the starter at UT right now. I had to disagree but he insisted on arguing some more so i wanted to see how you guys felt. BJ is a good athlete. NOT an SEC calibor athlete. He made the right choice when transferring. I hope all goes well for him.

Too Bad Crompton won't be able to throw for 260, one TD (73yarder), and no int's against the worst division one football team the Hilltoppers. Go get um Bryce.

I do not think it is that fact that he left that causes such reaction, many players leave never to be discussed again. I think the way he left (comments made to the media) rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

:hmm:Not sure how he let BJ get away. He is right there at UTC, where he belongs:dunno:

No, hope him well, but he is the one who left. I don't remember Kiffin asking him to leave. In my opinion I think his ego got the best of him. If you have ever heard a interview with BJ one can see cockyness.

But because Coleman did it against Glenville High, he certainly could against the worst I-A team.

We'll see about that. Even if he doesn't, it doesn't mean Coleman is better. Coleman barely completed half of his passes against a team that would lose to a good high school team.
