Did Khalil Mackenzie play?

Agree. Only, we didn't get near App State's QB either. Lamb threw 23 passes....we certainly had no sacks. I'm not sure we ever even hurried him or knocked him down.
He was back pedaling almost every toss, really noticeable on the TD pass he just threw it up.

I remember at least three QB hurries that led to incomplete passes--and, ironically, a hurry that was caught for a touchdown. I think later this weekend when the full stats come out, Tennessee's performance against the 3rd ranked O-line in the nation [https://www.profootballfocus.com/college-football-top-10-offensive-lines-in-notre-dame-stanford/] will feel better than it did Friday morning.

He's only a sophomore...... And people are already saying he's a bust? Wow

Also, the guy didnt play his entire SR year in HS. The way some of our fans react is beyond pathetic. I think some people thought he was going to be the best since Henderson as soon as he got here.

Abernathy played very well and was the best player on d

I agree. Abernathy was the standout. He was diagnosing plays and tackling like a boss - very much like Sutton. Barring injury, he will be a star by the end of this year.

I believe that KM just has a lot of learning to do, I say his senior year he will be unlockable. Takes time to learn his position especially after coming in out of shape, not to mention not playing his senior year in H.S.. Just my thoughts.

I also thought Abernathy played very well too. I thought Vereen and Sutton would do well as usual. Glad to see McDowell come in for Maybin and do good, was a little curious about linebacker depth.

Mackenzie not getting playing time, certainly answers a few questions, no?

Can't beat out Vickers and O'Brien that should tell you everything you need to know. It looks like he is going to be a bust. Really need to get Tuttle back, he is by far the best we have when healthy.

That is a well coached offense. TN defense needs to get meaner and make some moves and we need to rush the ball more on the ends

Bust after 1 season? Henderson RS his frosh year, and didn't bust out until his RS sophmore year, his 3rd year in the program.

Get it together

To be honest against an offense like that I thought he did a decent job controlling that a & b gap considering the majority of the runs where they got big yardage was around the edge! It's our linebackers that I feel could have played a little better!!

5* coming out of high scool means you contribute year one and should be very good by year 2. May take him a few games getting use to playing with the new weight. In his defense, we ran a lot of basic d until late 3rd ad 4th quarters.

You serious Clark? Kirkland was all over the place and McDowell played like an SEC starter. I thought the linebackers played very well.
